My husband and i stayed two nights late May in studio cabin 3 which was spacious and clean with comfortable lounges and even more comfortable bed. There were pleasant little touches like a vase of flowers in the kitchen, a little jug of milk in the fridge, magazines and a bag of knitting to do if you felt like it. Wendy greeted us in the office with real warmth and friendliness and as we arrived late afternoon on a cold day she informed us that the heater had been put on earlier to warm the room for our arrival. A huge bathroom, free guest washing machine, undercover parking with a 7 minute easy walk into the town centre has made this a very enjoyable stay. Would highly recommend the Crays and will return.

Room Tip: We stayed in studio 3 suitable for wheelchair access if required. Large verandah and spacious bathroom and living area, with own undercover parking.

Everything we had hoped for. Spacious, so clean, lots of extras not normally found. Lovely gardens, undercover parking, recycling - even of food scraps for the worms. Big windows and lots of light, private - If only all Tasmanian accommodation was as good as this !

Room Tip: We had Unit 3, a disability friendly unit, great access and verandah with views to the bay. Unit 4 also had views through the delightful gardens to the bay.

Located just down the road from the village and across the street from the very excellent Risby's restaurant, this place was perfect! Spotless and comfortable, reasonably priced. The manager, Megs, was fabulously helpful beforehand recommending a restaurant for us to dine at on Easter (I was concerned we would need a reservation, so I left it to her to help) and making the reservation for us. This town is definitely worth a visit! You can have a cooked crayfish waiting for you when you arrive, which is a fun thing to do (they are a little pricey, but that's what they cost everywhere and you get the best price from Crays because they actually catch them themselves). Our self contained cottage had lots of reading material on the local attractions and was really cozy during the downpour. It was adequately heated and had a ceiling fan for hotter days (no ac).

Room Tip: We had a handicapped accessible room right on the road and never heard a sound from the road.

The Crays offers a comfortable and relaxed style of accommodation in a fairly sleepy little fishing village which seems a long way from anywhere- perfect for getting away from it all. We stayed in a studio cabin which was spacious and clean, slightly old fashioned but nice, with a good sized deck looking out toward the bay. The view wasn't quite as good as we expected - the water was only visible across the road and through the trees, and this was not a place for those seeking luxurious appointments, but there were sweet little touches like a vase of flowers in the kitchen, a little jug of milk in the fridge rather then long life milk and a bag of knitting to do if you felt like it. Wendy greeted us in the office with real warmth and friendliness and we were really charmed by the whole experience

From our very first contact we were hooked, by the friendliness and helpfulness of Wendy and Megs. Our unit was brilliant, clean, spacious and everything we could possibly need. The huge bathroom was perfect. It was all so easy for my husband, a paraplegic, we could have stayed indefinitely. We loved Strahan, went on the boat tour [both got off at Sarah Island and the Heritage Walk], and also took a helicopter ride to the top of Mt Jukes. Then back to our lovely comfy unit for drinks on the verandah. Bliss!
