“Breathtakingly beautiful”
Reviewed April 9, 2013

We were blessed to have had an absolutely beautiful day, we tried to get the captains deck, but was booked out, we were disappointed but we needn't be as it was just as wonderful, from the beauty of the river to the food served and I would recommend every one to experience this part of the world, just heaven.

“Must do!”
Reviewed April 9, 2013

We had the pleasure of taking a Gordon River Cruise recently. What an experience! The boat was immaculate, the staff pleasant, helpful and extremely knowledgeable. The lunch was delicious, second and third helpings were encouraged. The scenery was magical, from the harbour, to the heads out into the Southern Ocean and then a ways up the Gordon River and the chance to experience a small part of the rainforest. The guides on Sarah Island were outstanding. Great story tellers.
I could not recommend this experience highly enough.

“Great few days in Strahan area”
Reviewed April 8, 2013

Can thoroughly recommend. Worth doing the upgraded package. Excellent day. We were given very informative talks. It will also be worth doing the wonderful train journey from Queenstown to Strahan and again booke the upgrade.

“Well worth the drive.”
Reviewed April 6, 2013

Made a spur of the moment decision to go and glad we did. Only just got on as the cruise was booked out ( would be a good idea to book first) . We where not disappointed great commentary from the skipper Andy and great alround service from all of the crew. Something for everyone from Sara Island , The Gates of Hell and The Franklin. Six hours went by in a flash well worth the money.

“Outstanding food, service AND views”
Reviewed April 5, 2013

Booked a Gordon river trip on the Lady Jane Franklin out of Strahan. My partner and I paid a little more and had the premium package that included food and wine. WOW, this was an exceptional trip.
The staff were charming, efficient and entertaining. The food was excellent and seemingly never ending! It began with multiple canapés accompanied by champagne, a beautiful tartlet filled with Tasmanian cheese for entree and progressed to a magnificent seafood buffet that was positively bountiful in its quantities. The crew were super attentive and provided premium tasmanian wines to accompany the food. The meal service finished with multiple desserts AND a cheese platter together with a Milton iced riesling. I had to decline the offer of a coffee simply because I was too full. All of this and meanwhile we had the stunning attraction of Macquarie Harbour and the Gordon river outside. It was too beautiful to articulate...
The captain of the Lady Jane Franklin is a natural comic and provided just the right amount of commentary. It was informative, funny and at no point intrusive. The mini tour that David gave on Sarah Island was another highlight. This was probably the best run organized tour that I've taken.
Do this trip, you won't be disappointed!
