“A Visit to Savour”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 7, 2013

I climbed the Nut on a clear morning shortly after dawn. It was spectacularly beautiful and something that I will never forget. The climb from the car park to the summit was short (450 metres) but very steep, The path is sealed and the hand rails were welcome. It needs reasonable fitness but also provides a sense of achievement. The only other people on the nut at the time was a couple some distance in front of me. There is a fairly easy 2 km walk around the nut with panoramic views from a number of well placed lookouts. A number of small wallabies were encountered on the walk together with significant bird life. The peace and tranquility was wonderful. The chairlift which carries a fee provides a good option for those who are unable or do not feel like the climb.

“a nut to remember”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 24, 2013

Fantastic view and interesting history. We took the easy way and went by chairlift. The walk around the nut allowed you to see the township and both beaches. There were benches and picnic tables along the way to rest and take in the surroundings. We saw wallabies and sea birds.

“Must do!!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 19, 2013

We went up the Nut in the chairlift...& when we saw the steepness of the path, we were very glad we did. We did the 2km walk around the top...what amazing views. The little booklet we were given on the chairlift was full of information. We came back very wind blown but pleased we had done the walk.

“Nice views”

A bit remote - it is a long drive to get there, but on a clear day the vista is nice.
Apart from that, there is nothing to do in Stanley!

“Nut - an ancient volcanic formation”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 1, 2013

Stanley is a beautiful place and the nut is the icon. There are two ways to reach top of Nut, by walk or by chairlift.

Pros:

1. Chairlift experience
2. Beautiful view from top of the nut
3. 2 KM round walk but never got bored
4. Shops available down the nut

Cons:

1. Not enough sign boards top of the nut
