We were a group of 14 and staying in Stanley decided to to go to the pub for a meal.

The level of service, quality of food was well above your average pub food.

We had fish, scallops, and beef all cooked to perfection.

The food and atmosphere was great - however the management are not that willing to accomodate you if you have an extra person turn up - once you have booked a table for 6 and you want to add another small one (Table).when there were plenty of empty tables nearby. We did have a lovely waitress though.

Stopped here for lunch expecting normal pub fare but was surprised to find such a variety of choice and fresh produce. Oysters with smoked salmon and camembert to die for, gluten free choices that were tasty and not bland or heavy, excellent seafood chowder and crayfish. Great service and good prices.

The hotel dates back to the mid 19th century and the bistro has a great view over the Bay. It is a cheerful place frequented my locals and visitors and the staff are pleasant and obliging. On the night we we were there lobster was on offer at the reasonable price of $42 and an excellent Cape Grim steak at $33. These represented the highest priced items on the menu and it would be possible to eat there for quite a bit less, The local fish served with chips was pronounced to be fresh and tasty and the meal was substantial. Drinks were served at the bar and a good range of Tasmanian wines were available. Well worth a visit.
