It is impossible to completely describe the relaxation and recharging experience that you get at this retreat.
The operators have combined a breath-taking forest/coastal view and the seduction of friendly wallabies with three extremely comfortable private cabins. They look out on a wall of pure natural beauty that can be enjoyed inside or from the large private deck whilst feeding friendly wildlife below.
This retreat is a spectacular destination and it is more than just a base for exploring the jewels of the Tasmanian east coast. We went for half-instead of full-day excursions just so that we could enjoy more time here. It's the perfect place to unwind for a couple of days.
The wine and hot meals served in the evening complete the experience but you can prepare your own in your kitchen if the menu isn't to your taste. There's nothing too difficult about this place: you just need to light a wood-fired pot belly stove for heating if it gets cold; the off-the-grid experience means giving up mains electricity as it runs off 12-volt solar powered batteries; and, shooing possums who invade your deck requires your powers of gentle persuasion.
We've stayed at other retreats set in forests and national parks before but this is the only one that has been done right and it blows them all away.More
