We asked for (and got) a cabin with perfect view of the bay. These cabins are just right, giving two bedrooms (1x double, 1x twin), shower room and loo, open-plan lounge diner and kitchen. The place was clean and tidy, with clean sheets on all the beds - no nasty surprises! Everything you need is included right down to the all essential bottle opener! The kitchen is a bit 'basic', but perfectly adequate - we ate out most of the time. These cabins are great value for money and a perfect base in which to travel around Tasmania. St. Helens is a small town with not much in the way of night life, but it is surrounded by some of the most spectacular scenery in the world - see photos! Queechys was situated in the perfect spot just two minutes drive from the town centre.

This cabin was excellent value. I requested and got a cabin with a view of the bay from the verandah. Location was central to roads leading to Binnalong Bay etc.The separate bedroom was large and provided a great sleep. There was a laundry tub in the large bathroom and a clothes line and washing machine on site. Small niggles were I would have preferred a bigger fridge and a pot big enough to cook pasta!

Very helpful owner, allowing us to change from motel suite to cottage upon check-in, so that we could enjoy cooking the fresh Tassie seafoods and produres in the fully equipped kitchen. The cottage is spacious and clean, and costs only $95. Certainly the best one you could get in Tasmania

We stayed one night here but would happily have stayed longer, the cottage was excellent, a bit old fashioned but very large, spotlessly clean, and with a fully equipped kitchen. It was great value at $90 dollars a night.

Do not expect a cottage but a caravan style cabin. That said, this was great value at $90 for the night and everything was clean and comfortable and the cabin had a lovely view over the bay. The restaurant attached to the property was well patronised and obviously highly regarded. We did not visit as it was a little dearer than we were prepared to pay. Take away freshly caught fish and chips from the paddle steamer was superb and very cheap. Be wary as in December, everything in St Helens closes at 8.00pm. Overall, a great night sleep in a very quiet and peaceful spot

Queechy Cottages was our first stay on the East coast on our trip around Tasmania. We had only booked a single night there. If we had realised just how nice it was we would have stayed longer. We found the accommodation to be very spacious, modern and comfortable. A large bathroom with a good sized spa bath was a lovely surprise. The all inclusive washing facilities was a real bonus. The location was great with wonderful views across the bay. We will certainly return.
