Just what the town needed- and it happens to be one of the tastiest, best value, Indian ever. Fluffiest naan bread ever!

“Wonderful find in a small town”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 3, 2013

We were intrigued to see a sign to an Indian restaurant when we drove into St Helens, so decided it was a pleasant evening stroll from the Bayside Inn.

It was really good food. We had a garlic naan $3.50, Butter Chicken $16.90, Lamb Rogan Josh $17.90, Palak Paneer $15.90, Rice $5 and Sides $5.90. It was all great particularly the Butter Chicken.

The restaurant appears to be run by a young couple. The young woman does front of house and her husband does the cooking. She said he used to work in Pickled Evenings in Launceston whilst he was doing his uni degree.

We wish them all the best of luck in their venture as it is good food. Take away orders also seem to be available as several people came the evening we were there.

“A good sign of a good curry house is good naan.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 18, 2013

This was our second visit to Punjab and it didn't disappoint. I always think that a good sign of a good Indian restaurant is it's naan bread and this was no exception. The naan bread was delicious - fresh, tasty, moist, moorish! The Rogan Josh was divine - without a doubt the best that I had ever had. Service was great. Such a welcome little restaurant to the East Coast.

“Welcome to town”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 3, 2013

As locals we welcome this new reastuarant to St Helens as we really lack qaulity dining venues in this town.

We recently dined at this venue and were very surprised at the quality and a good choice of indian food available. The garlic naan bread is very good, soft and moist on the inside and a crispy outside. We enjoyed the choices of butter chicken, fish curry and lamb kofta all very authentic and tasty..

The service was friendly and attentive. A very enjoyable evening, good value for money.

We will be back, can recommend this restuarant to anyone who enjoys indian cuisine.
