Great seafood chowder, wonderful oysters and fish actually all good. Fantastic all washed down with two bottes of Ninth Island white in blue plastic cups couldn't ask for better....

“Great value for money meal”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 23, 2013

This restaurant on an old paddle wheeler (as the name implies) floating on the waterfront at St Helens made for a great lunch stop. The fresh fish and chips were rated very highly by the other members of my travelling party while the seafood chowder I ordered was delicious. This quirky eatery has seating inside and out with friendly service and great value for money meals.

“Top feed in a hurry”

Fab fresh local seafood, cooked beautifully and quickly. Or you can sit in the paddlewheeler and savour the atmosphere while enjoying the local catch. Excellent prices too - try the "packs" they are the best value

“Fresh fish, great character, reasonable prices!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 18, 2013

A very unusual floating restaurant ( an old river boat converted), with great fish dishes, very original decor and a friendly, "happy go lucky" manager (owner perhaps?).

The fish is as fresh as it gets, the service is great, the staff have a great sense of humor and the oysters they serve are "to die for", and by Sydney standards, quite reasonably priced. To the point that one member of our group, ordered a second dozen!

My fish and chips were among the best I have tasted anywhere and, I don't have any hesitation in recommending this lovely little restaurant to anyone who visits St. Helens.

It's original, it's nothing fancy, and it's not pricey. Just the place to enjoy some fresh seafood and admire the unique atmosphere the place offers!

The only thing that I could wish for is, some outside deck sitting, simply to admire the tranquil atmosphere of St. Helen's bay.

“BRILLIANT F&C's”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 18, 2013

with only one night in St Helens we checked TA for 'where to eat'....there wasn't a huge choice, but TA reviews for Paddle Wheeler sounded good and so very pleased we took 'your' advice...what a great little business this is......an old daggy blue boat where you can sit inside or out, depending on pot luck, and eat some of the BEST fish and chips I've had in a long long while...how can you go past $10.....one of our friends ordered the salad as well and it was truely magnificent with so much fresh ingredients....not just the standard lettuce/tomato/cucumber etc. BYO is available too....you can't book here and they close at 7.30pm so my advice would be GET THERE EARLY....or you'll be sorry!!
