With everyone having to buy a box for entry into Sorell Farm, our fridge was over-flowing with berries of all shapes and sizes at the end of the day. They tasted great with vanilla ice cream, especially the sour ones. The visit in early December was not very fruitful as the cherries and peaches weren't ripe yet. Strawberries were ok, and other berries were on the sour side. Like I said, the kids will love plucking the fruit from the trees and bushes. For adults, not too exciting.

I do regular tours into Sorell Fruit Farm. The owner operators are amongst the most lovely and obliging business people that you would meet.
Tourists from cities and overseas just love this place. The variety of produce that they grow is astounding and they have different species available when in season. They also make a variety of yummie products from their own produce, serve a ripper coffee and light meals.
It is also easily assessable as it is really close to Hobart.
Just something a little different to enjoy whilst on holidays in Tassie.

If you are travelling with pets in your camper you may not want to stop here, especially in hot weather. Did not even think of picking fruit.

It was 1st week of January - the red-white cheries were wonderfully sweet and full of flavour. Many apricots have fallen to the ground, ripe to eat, juicy and sweet. The silvenberries were a bit harder to pick (have spikes) but tasted fantastic. The strawberries were not as good (relatively speaking).

Our little boy loved the rosters that were following him around. He loved the fruit pickings, with plenty of cherries on lower branches that he could reach. A wonderful experience for him.

We filled 2 1/2 containers and ate all the fruits over 2 days - delicious.

It is really not expensive if you consider how much they charge for a tiny punnet of berries in fruit shops. For cheeries, I have never tasted better ones. I reckon it is worth every cents.

My partner and I decided that it would be fun to go pick your own fruits. We arrived at the Sorrel fruit farm and were quite annoyed when leaving. To enter the farm, you need to buy a small plastic container for 12,50. whatever you pick and that fits into the basket is yours. While this is quite a price for a ~1 kg container (if filled with small fruits it might nearly be worth the price) it would not have been a problem, as we wanted the shared experience. Unfortunately though, you cannot buy one container and pick together but every person entering needs his own container, which makes it ever so more expensive just for the fact that as a tourist, I dont eat 2 kg of fruits in 3 days.
So for our experience, definitely not worth it, especially since most good fruits are already gone. However the coffee place was nice.

might be more value for a family as children only pay 6dollars but also get smaller containers.
