On March 6 2014, Rob Saltmarsh took the two of us on a tour through the "Tarkine Wilderness". He showed us the forests and explained the painstakingly slow evolution of these forests, confronted us with the devastation brought about by logging (aka the "harvesting of natural resources" as some call it), provided us with an excellent morning coffee and a superb lunch and took us to the "Edge of the World", the western coast of Tasmania exposed to the roaring forties. This trip was one of the highlights of our recent three months' trip to Australia (which included for the first time Tasmania). The friendliness, expertise and dedication of Rob was absolutely awesome.
