We stopped for a refreshment and went back for dinner. Great atmosphere with friendly locals and staff. Lovely timber everywhere. Dinner was spot on. We had duck pancakes and scallops for entrée with pork belly and beef cheek for main, yummy. Staff very attentive. Highly recommend.

During august 2014 I went to tall timbers to share a meal with my friends, I was asked to remove my hat which I did right away. I quickly noticed that other people in the bistro were also wearing beanies and hats, that was fine as I just assumed that they would also be asked to remove their hats and beanies. After 15 minutes all other patrons in the bistro were still wearing their hats. I found this really disapointing and frustrating and I left utterly disappointed and disgusted that the staff and management allow this kind of discrimination in what is supposed to be a "classy" establishment. After my experice after allowing some patrons to wear beanies while I was asked to remove a designer hat I really think tall timbers should re think their policys!!!!

Hi Jo B

Thank you for the time to point out your issue when dining with Tall Timbers in the Kauri Bistro this month. I note that you have made comments in regards to being asked to remove your hat whilst in the Dining Room and you noted other patron still wearing hats within the dining room ... Please note that it is policy to ask all patrons to remove hats whilst dining and I can only apologise for the staff not enforcing the house policy. Please accept my apology and I will ensure into the future patron like yourself will not feel singled out.
Again thank you for taking the time in pointing this issue out to management...

Regards
Tall Timbers Tasmania Management.

We recently stayed for 3 nights in a Lakeside Unit. Everything about our stay was fabulous. The unit was perfect for a family of 4.
The meals were great, the pool was nice, clean and warm.
We found everyone there most helpful and the housekeeping of our unit was immaculate!
We could not find a fault in our stay.

Thoroughly enjoyable and relaxing. Great dam and little creeks with ducks who just love bread. Two bedroom apartments have bath and secure deck with patio that backs onto dam. Table with 6 chairs and long chaise and lounge. Great for kids and terrific view. Highly recommended.

We had three [3] nights facing onto the pond/dam and enjoying every minute.

The unit [64] had every extra that you could want, even numerous ducks and other wild life to greet you each morning looking to be fed.

Because of the great accommodation and facilities within the unit we chose to eat in the unit. The bar area was most comfortable with a big raging fire and comfortable seating. Bar prices were reasonable and service very good.

We will be returning next trip to Tasmania just for the Tall Timbers experience.
