“Great Stay at Rosie's Cottage Townhouse”
Reviewed May 4, 2014

We stayed two nights at this Townhouse and it was like a home away from home.
Very cosy, yet very modern. Couldn't have asked for anything more. Very well equipped accommodation. Will definitely stay there again when we are up that way !!

This cottage has everything you need and more for a comfortable stay. If you have kids, there are even teddies provided! A loaf of fresh bread awaits you on arrival, plus milk and fresh juice. There is a firebox in the lounge and plenty of wood is provided for those cooler evenings. So relaxing and cosy. Free off street parking, although the drive is rather steep.
Smithton itself doesn't have too much to offer, but it is a good base for the many outdoor attractions and walks that are around the area. It was very pleasant in the evening to return to Rosie's and put our feet up and feel like being " home". I would loved to have had a couple of board games to play as I am not really a TV watcher, but that is a personal thing.
I certainly would recommend staying here, if you are in west Tasmania. Suitable for couples or families.

Stayed at Rosies Cottage in Smithton over the Easter weekend. Cosy cottage and very comfortable, with all amenities. The owner went out of her way to accommodate our needs over a very busy holiday weekend. A perfect place for a romantic holiday for couples.

Stayed 2 nights in the 2 bedroom Rosebank cottage. Cons: Bathing facilities (shower over bath) not safe for elderly or any disabled person. Two high steps up with no secure hand hold and big step down into bath. Glass in bay window in bathroom does not provide total privacy. Cottage could do with a good spring clean.
Pros: Quiet location in extensive gardens with BBQ area. Well equipped and all beds comfortable. Cosy open fire and/or electric heating.

One of the upsides of being a tourist one of the benifits of travel in tasmania is that there are ample signs to guide to you the many B&bs the dot the apple isle. We came across our a little earlier that we had expected and but met the owner who was able to give us directions to our townhouse. We're then reminded that check out was at ten and where we could find the key.

Not knowing the area the directions were of little use and my suggestion would be that a map could have been emailed to us for greater ease. Our accommodation was behind another cottage and high set. At the top of the stairs I have to admit I was expecting a view..... But not of a building site and a bus depot.

All that aside the accommodation was very modern, with a red and black decor. There was a spacious bathroom, washing machine and dryer to get that middle of the holiday laundry done. There was a bit of a search to work out how to get the stove working, but that ended well. My husband tells me that the loaf of bead for his breakie was delicious..... Though there was nothing GF for me, but I had come prepared.

On a public holiday, Smithton is a quiet place....actually very quiet!

All in all we did enjoy our little stop over and should we choose Smithton again, would consider rose bank cottage.

I am sorry to hear you wern't entirely happy with your stay at my Town House. The Town House is up one flight of stairs, but at no time have I advertised that it has a view. However, if you cast your eye a little further, you see the outskirts of town and accross toward the west coast, which on many occasions provides a beautiful sunset.
The oven, which you had a little difficulty with, has a switch nearby labelled "stove". This complies with safety regulations.
I am so pleased ypur husband enjoyed my home made bread and I am sorry I didn't supply anything gluten free for you.
Thank you for taking the time to write your review.
