Location is beautiful, right on the bay. Rooms are a little outdated, and the continental breakfast was just that and ok. I expected more from a bed & breakfast. This place is nice, but has so much potential. Host (I say host and not hosts because we never met the wife) was very kind, and helpful. All in all it was a nice, comfortable stay, but great.

This was such a nice place to stay we would like to rate it 6 out of 5! We stayed here with our adult daughter and couldn't believe how much room we had. It was a full apartment with 2 bedrooms and a spacious living room with a fireplace. Plus decks overlooking the beach and sea. Incredibly beautiful. It was a short walk to Safety Cove Beach. The hosts were very helpful and welcomed us with home-made cookies. We didn't ever want to leave.

We spent two nights here in February 2012 and had a wonderful stay. The loation is breathtaking; the room large and comfortable; the amenities just right; and the hosts graceous and helpful. An amazing beach is literally right outside, just past the beautiful garden. Make-it-yourself breakfast is included (toast, yogurt, fruit, real tea and real coffee), which we enjoyed on the veranda, overlooking the beach. Unspoiled and wonderful. If we hadn't come all the way from California, we'd surely come again.

Wonderful spot stayed 3 nights brillant location, we stayed in the 2 bedroom unit downstairs had everything you could want even a decanter of Port on the house!!! Views to die for, beaches as good as any I have seen and better still no one on them!!! Close to Port Arthur to enjoy the settlement and to do a Tasman Island cruise up the coast, a must do trip. Rex and Sue were great hosts there when you needed them but not all over you like some places. Plenty to do for the kids including indoor board games DVD's, cricket set, bowls etc. A really nice spot for a short break or a long stay.

Room Tip: All look good.

The title of this review is definitely tongue-in-cheek, making reference to the star attraction in this neck of the woods of Tasmania, the Port Arthur prison. The Sea Change B&B is a quaint little place in a very pastoral setting (you'll drive by more than one cow, sheep and chicken on your way here from the prison area). The owners are EXTREMELY helpful and friendly, giving tips on great places to go (one of their tips was the Tasmanian Devil Conservation Park just up the road) and even making bookings for you. As others have mentioned, the views can be spectacular (it was overcast and slightly foggy/misty when we were there, so you could just barely make out the coastline) and you can leave your windows open to fall asleep to the sounds of the waves splashing up on shore just down from the house. After having eaten breakfasts in restaurants for an entire week, the basic breakfast they leave in the room for you (juice and milk in the fridge, bread for toast, fruit, etc.) was a welcome change and we didn't leave feeling hungry. My wife found the bed to be hard, but I liked it. And the bedding (a big thick comforter) was great for the cool spring night we had (as was the electric heater we used both in the evening and in the morning). About the only downside was the distance from the "town" of Port Arthur....but that comment has to be taken in the context that it's not really that far (about 3-4 miles) and the word "town" is fairly euphemistic--it's more of a small collection of buildings comprising a gas station, a cafe (with good food, though a limited menu) and a restaurant (which we didn't go into), and a couple offices for tour operators. But Sea Change was a very nice place to stay and Port Arthur (including the drive from Hobart, with its amazing scenery if you follow the "touristy" signs) is definitely worth the visit!

Room Tip: Didn't see any of the other rooms, but I'm assuming all of them were nice.

We stayed for one night in a room with an amazing view to the water. Received a very warm welcome and advice on the local area. Handy location for Port Arthur. Room was perfectly comfortable and warm, but a little dated in its decor. Good facilities in the room (toaster, fridge etc) for making breakfast in the morning.

As other reviews have noted, the location of this B&B is excellent- right by the water and next to a lovely beach. The views are absolutely stunning. The rooms were comfortable and decorated in a homey and comfortable way. There is a small refrigerator and toaster in the room. The breakfast was "serve yourself" from a basket left in the room the night before- cereal, muffins, toast, butter, jam, Vegemite, milk, juice, coffee and tea. While nothing particularly special, there was plenty of food and it was perfectly fine for me (who doesn't normally eat a big cooked breakfast). The owners are very nice and willing to chat about the area, themselves and the B&B. They provided restaurant recommendations and called to make us a reservation. There is easy on-site, free parking. The B&B is a tiny bit remote as far as the Port Arthur area goes, but this only means a few extra minutes of driving, and the location is worth the short distance. I wish we had been able to stay for a few extra nights- simply to relax on the veranda with a book. One side note... we arrived a couple of hours early and the room was not yet ready (which is understandable). When we asked if they could hold our luggage, so that we didn't have to leave it in our car while sightseeing, the only thing they could offer was to leave it outside on the veranda. Of course, this might be perfectly OK for the location, but we were a bit surprised at the suggestion.
