The newly re-opened Cap Huay walking track from Fortescue Bay is well worth the day trip. It's about 4-5 hour return walk, a little over 8km. Lots of steps, but apart from that good easy walking. The views from the Cape are absolutely stunning.

Beach day visitor area is lovely. We watched a seal playing just off the beach, had a great day.

Great for a day trip of bushwalking, or to enjoy the beautiful beach, or for a few days of camping (for those with well equipped camping gear). The three capes track is being upgraded and developed - which will be a 40km, 3 day treck - I can't wait to do it! Currently, the last stage of the three capes track is completed - the bushwalking track is exceptional, made from rock and easy to walk in all weather conditions. There are spectacular views, with a roughered coast line, surrounded by wildnerness and beautiful forest. A wonderful place to visit. (NB: The road into Fortescue Bay is unsealed and a 4WD would be recommended).

.... because even though it is a 5 star paradise I love the peace and quiet and if I tell you all about how great it is then you might wreck it! The road in is a little average, however, the camping spots, beach, day facilities, boat ramp, kayaking opportunities, bush walking (from minutes to days) and overall scenery are all awesome!

this is a remote 18km gravel road detour off the main road on the way to Port Authur but it is worth every minute the is camping alowed no on site vans or cabins you must be self contained. but the walking trails from here are fantastic you can walk to pirates bay or cape hoye and tasman island which is a 2 day walk there and back . The water is cristal blue and the fishing/diving is fantastic , but again your isolated so you must have all your own gear.
