NRMA Port Arthur Holiday Park
Certificate of Excellence

This was our last destination, of our Tasmanian holiday. The old saying “save the best until last” could not be further from the truth. This park is simply stunning, spotlessly clean in every aspect. So close to The Historic Site and the beach is simply breathtaking. The staff are just so warm and welcoming. Thank you for a very memorable stay and once again what an outstanding park, in the most picturesque location in Tasmania.

I stayed 1 night at the park I was a lone woman sleeping in the back of a small hired hatch back car no tent no caravan no need for electricity .The cost $28 I thought this a lot to park my car 1 night but a shower & make my tea & breakfast would make up for it.after the woman took my money she informed me I would not be able to use the kitchen as they had over 100 teenagers on camp even if I could have cooked I could not have sat down.Lucky I had cold dounuts sat in car to eat .Met 3 motor bike riders who pitched 3 tents the same night the man charged them $33 for all 3 they would take up more room than I did I wish to tell the woman they do surveys on customer services if the person is happy with the service they are likely to tell 2 to 5 people if they are unhappy they usually tell 15 to 20 I belong to a travel club have already told over 50 people Never paid more than $15 full use of all facilities the rest of my 2 week trip

Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review. I am not sure when you stayed at our park, however if you did not require electricity, then an unpowered site actually only starts from $24.00 per night. It is unfortunate that a group was occupying the kitchen at the same time you wanted to use it however there are many BBQs and other seating areas in the park for our guests use. I would have hoped that the guests in the group would have allowed you to share with them, as most caravan and campers are used to doing this.
Our rates are charged at a site rate for 2 people and then extra people on top of this are charged a fee. We unfortunately do not offer a one person rate as these charges are put in place to cover the many facilities we offer at our park, to be able to keep them maintained and cleaned to a high standard.
If you are looking for camping and caravanning for under $15 per night, I would recommend sticking to inland locations and parks with less facilities, as with most accommodation options, you are paying for the location, service and quality of facilities. In comparison to other Holiday Parks in the surrounding area of a similar quality, we believe our rates are quite reasonable.
Thank you again for your review and we hope you have a great Christmas.

Port Arthur Holiday Park would be the BEST Park in Tassie. The facilities and grounds are immaculately maintained. The wildlife at night is something to experience. The service received by the Managers Steve and Lea, was outstanding from beginning to end. We defiantly will return and will be recommending this piece of paradise to all our fellow travellers. Well done!

We arrived late in the afternoon and the male of the two people at reception didn't really seem interested in our plan to stay. The lady however was very accommodating and helpful. We had an ensuite powered site which was clean and tidy. We had birds, wildlife and an echidna visit us. The facilities were clean and tidy. Would visit again but can't say the welcome was very warm from one of the persons on reception.

The three of us adults stayed in a garden cottage for one night. It was clean and very comfortable. Plenty of hot water for showering and the kitchen facilities were clean and tidy. Toilet very clean. Clean bedding but pillows could be replaced. Very quiet at night and hosts very friendly and helpful. A one minute drive to Port Arthur site very handy.

Birds in the bushes outside made for some great photos and listening to them. Rates were very good and just a short stroll down to the waterfront.

We definitely would stay here again and try one of the waterview cabins....thanks...
