A return visit didn't disappoint. A wet, windy day but a very warm welcome and exciting menu choices. Tempura travella was wonderful and other guests opted for the pork belly which was also a good choice. Only one had sweets, the rest of us too full but envious when the apple and rhubarb crumble arrived. I noticed children extremely well catered for. A shame to see this popular little cafe leaving Penguin but we will certainly visit devonport.

This is THE best food on the coast. The service is great and I have never had anything to complain about or sent a meal back. Staff are always friendly and courteous. Menu is always changing and there's always something on there I call my new favorite. Just go here, immediately.

Lucky enough today to have a "last lunch" at Wild before they move to Devonport later in the year. :( As always the food, drinks and service was first rate and not to be faulted. We have been visiting Wild for quite a few years now and I must say I have been shocked to see the negative comments posted. Having been a casual drop in diner both when business was quiet and completely fully booked I can say that I have never experienced one of those problems - even when with a larger group. If you're looking for totally fabulous food, cooked with flair and to perfection, with friendly, helpful staff, you can't go past "Wild". The prices compare favourably with other quality restaurants. The strawberry dacquiri can't be beaten.

Booked for Sunday lunch - place "chockers" - so would strongly recommend making a booking.
Food was superb, so flavoursome & beautifully presented. Has a distinct Asian leaning, but menu is varied & interesting. Service was great - very friendly & knowledgeable staff. Even though place was full the staff had time to listen & converse - no hurry & nothing was a problem - we (4) shared some desserts (2) & were given extra plates & cutlery - this doesn't happen very often - usually have to ask. Wild is not cheap, but both the excellent food & service is worth the cost. Would highly recommend.

From the moment we walked in the front door everything was a problem. The restaurant was half full and they weren't able to seat us as they needed to make sure that they could 'provide us with good service.' we were asked to come back in 10 mins. When we came back we were met with the same thing. To cut a painful long story short all the waitress could talk about was how she wanted to give us good service and she was not sure if we could be served 'properly' in the 45 mins that we had. She made us feel like it was a really big problem us being there to the point where we offered to leave. She took our order, but needed to check with the kitchen if they would be able to serve us and during that time we decided that we would rather leave than have to put up with her talking about her service but she had already put the order in so we stayed. The food did come out in good time, we chose 3 asian dishes and all the food had way too much sauce and too salty. We did eat it as we were hungry. We left as fast as we could and she even got the bill wrong. If she stopped talking and telling customers about the problems of the kitchen and service and just got on with it maybe it would have been alright. We'll never go back again. Way too painful.
