We stayed at Sanda House for just one night and I couldn't have been happier. We stayed in the Mulberry room which has a nice view over the back veggie patch out to the ocean. It was really tidy and quite cosy and well layed out. Our hosts really made us feel at home allowing me to use the wash room to do some ironing.

The continental breakfast is absolutely delicious and you get plenty even without hot foods.

The best part of our stay was being able to check out at 11:30am upon request. We were attending a wedding later that day and had nowhere else to get ready.

I would happily recommend Sanda House B&B, and Orford itself, as a place to stay its a lovely place altogether.

A very picturesque setting and a wealth of history with the building - but don't expect any mod cons. The rooms were dark and not the best of lighting. Linen was clean, but the shower and washing facilities, whilst also clean were somewhat cramped. Breakfast is a continental type; cereal, yoghurt, and homemade jams and compote; all very tasty, but more could have been provided for the price and the needs for a full day ahead.

If you're into early Australian History then this is the place to stay. The original stone construction (mid 1800's) reveals the scutch marks from the builders; every wall seems to tell a story! Home-made preserves with toast for breakfast and a friendly pooch called Chester to finish off the left-overs! The en-suite is small but totally functional, and I liked the fact that the bar fridge was just outside the bedroom door: nothing worse than a noisy motor! A beautiful garden setting and a 10 minute walk to the river, where Scorcher's Pizza place will not disappoint!

Room Tip: I'd say that all of the rooms are quality

This is a B&B homestay in an old heritage home (1840), and that is what to expect.

There is a guest sitting area with old magazines which is fun adn the location is peaceful. The breakfast includes delicious fresch bread and home made preserves.

The best part of staying a Sanda House is the breakfast. The warm freshly baked bread and the homemade plum, quince, pear and ginger jams and local honey are irresistible. The stewed rhubarb and apple sauce along with the jams come from the back orchard.
This very old farm house from the mid 1800s is charming. The old photos were fun and all the furniture and decorations were antique. Do not expect large rooms and baths but the home was clean, the bedding fresh and warm. The owner, Linda, was very informative on what was going on in the area.

Room Tip: We stayed in the room with twin beds. At first they looked too small but we had no trouble sleeping...

A picturesque historical building, hosting a charming B&B with beautiful cottage gardens, an orchard on site and a stroll to some of Tasmania's loveliest views - what's not to like!

We're repeat customers to Orford Sanda House and have stayed in both the Rose Room and the one across the hall (name escapes me). On both occasions the rooms were spotless. The hosts were friendly, helpful but unobtrusive and the two different dogs we've met there have both added to the experience. The breakfast included warm, home made bread and preserves made from fruit from their own orchard. The house is a little noisy but then it's over a hundred years old.

We came back to Orford Sanda House because we enjoyed our stay so much. I have stayed in bed and breakfasts all over the world and there is nothing about this particular one that was a big surprise. If you've stayed in B and Bs before, you'll love this. If you haven't, you'll find a quintessential and endearing first time experience here.

Room Tip: The Rose Room is lovely but has a skylight so for those who sleep lightly, the early Tasmanian sunri...

We loved this place because it was a historic building and a lovely room in Orford which is one of Tasmania's most picturesque ocean-front towns.

The owners were really friendly and very helpful but we were a bit put out that we paid $130 for the room and there was no cooked breakfast! What we did have was excellent and we enjoyed our stay.
