“Best B&B in Tassy”
Reviewed November 3, 2013

We just returned from a 2 week holiday in Tassy with Oatlands Lodge being our last sleep before catching the Spirit the next day. Well what a way to end a fantastic holiday, it was well worth every penny. Our hosts Gerard & Danny couldn't have made us more welcome, the lodge is a credit to you both. We felt so homely & comfortable, breakfast was amazing best ever, we will return next time we in Tassy & highly recommend it. Thank you for your hospitality guys we enjoyed our stay Steve & Lill

We stayed on a wet, cold blustery day in October. The accommodation was authentic and quaint.
The family had adjoining rooms with the one shower and toilet. We had a brilliant nights sleep and an enormous breakfast. Dan made a log fire which the family happily sprawled out in front of. The whole place was just magical.

This very authentic establishment offers large comfortable ensuited rooms at a reasonable cost. But, then there's the breakfast. Delicious. Good variety of fruit, toast, jams, cereals and a large cooked breakfast with the lot. This makes the whole stay extremely good value and very enjoyable.

The hotel is just gorgeous - so much thought and care. Antiques everywhere. And a lovely wood fired combustion stove. Stone walls, 3.5-4 metre ceilings downstairs, 2 metre ceilings upstairs. DUCK if you are tall. Dan gave us the room with the most headroom, as the other half is 1.95m...and teddy bears everywhere.

Breakfast was everything - fresh fruit, yoghourt, cereal, toast, THEN the hot stuff - mushies, tomatoes, mini sausages, bacon, more toast, eggs. Coffee and tea, juice. WOW!

Room Tip: We peeked in all the upstairs rooms - all gorgeous - but the stairs are steep. and watch your head o...

The Oatlands Lodge Colonial B&B is a delight. Extremely comfortable and welcoming.
A wonderful breakfast, delightful setting and great history of the small town and district as a bonus.
The hosts Dan and Gerard are very welcoming with information on the history of Oatlands. Their local Pancake and Crepe shop serves delicious offerings to enhance your visit to Oatlands.

Room Tip: Low ceiling to room entry in one of the rooms, otherwise all lovely. There are stairs to the rooms.

A wonderful package of what makes people want to come to Tassi. The Lodge is a beautifully preserved part of Oatland's history, right in the centre of town. Inside it is a mini museum, full of period pieces. Rooms were comfortable though when we were there maybe a little cool for some people. Helpful hosts served a massive Country breakfast.

Room Tip: Check the heating

A historical home, tastefully decorated and located in the centre of town. The hosts are informative, charming and very attentive. The bedrooms are warm and inviting, clean and spacious. The breakfast is just delicious! Oaklands is a wonderful town containing numerous historical buildings. Stone fencing surrounds the many sandstone cottages and their lovely gardens. A bakery, creperie, hotel, restaurant, pharmacy and supermarket are located within a short walk of the lodge. A sour dough bread making course is available at the local bakery and there is an interesting walking tour of the town and local wheat mill. Stay, you will not be disappointed.

Room Tip: The blue room is peaceful and the window attracts a nice evening breeze.
