A group of friends whilst touring around Tassie came across Parsons Bay Retreat, really enjoyed our stay in the clean and comfortable rooms. Had a spa and sauna and then followed by a great meal and local pinot in the restaurant...Gladly retuen

We stayed one night in mid-March after touring the Port Arthur site, a very short drive away.
Our room had a very comfortable bed, was totally clean and we enjoyed having a swim/hot-tub in the pool complex after walking all day. Also enjoyed dinner in the on-site restaurant (our unit had a microwave and bar fridge so made our own breakfast the next morning)

On-site laundry was also convenient.

It's not cheap to tour in Australia - we thought this good value for the price (all our accommodation was booked well in advance online).

Room Tip: We found the site quiet even with a room facing the road, as the complex sits up on a bit of a hill...

Stayed 2 nights at this lovely place. Nice welcome, spacious, very well equipped room with car parking in front of unit. A big plus was the indoor swimming pool and spa. Restaurant - the Village Hub - which is part of the complex has a large terrace with a gorgeous view overlooking the sea and very good food at moderate prices. Convenient for visiting Port Arthur. Definitely recommend.

Was pleasantly surprised at how lovely this place is for the price. Enjoyed a very tasty evening meal, room was serviceable and the host was extremely friendly and informative. He went put of his way to arrange an early breakfast for us. Would definitely return.

Stayed there earlier this year for 2 nights Didn't like the place. water was not drinkable. and they ran out of water the morning we left. ducks were coming into our room (which I didn't mind) but not crapping outside the door where you have to walk. Had dinner at the restaurant ''HUB'' food was edible but waited ages for it. the room was really outdated. Carpets were filthy nah would not go back. The only thing going for it is the views.

Thank you taking the time to provide feedback on your recent travel experiences. We are sorry that you did not enjoy your stay with us.

It is very important to us that our guests have a good experience, therefore I feel it is also important to explain the following...

Water supply: We harvest our rain water from our rooves and also pump water from Sucklings Creek, there is no town water supply on the whole of Tasman Peninsula. We are required to inform our guests that the tap water needs to be boiled before it is drinkable. We do provide our guests daily with jugs of drinking water and we have a special tap in the BBQ area for our guests to refill their bottles.

We are a rural property, we have 2 goats and a dozen chooks in a large yard. We also have a number of thriving veggie gardens. Unfortunately our ducks were able to fly over the fence, most guests loved our ducks and kept feeding them. Yes, our friendly ducks were dropping their poops so we had to let them go. We found them a new home on a farm near us. This problem does no longer exist.

Without knowing what date and what room you stayed in it is difficult to answer your claims regarding the decor and cleanliness. However, we offer different style of accommodation, from Motel to Studios and to Family Apartments. All our motel and studios units were renovated, all have new beds, carpets, kitchenettes, TV etc, some still have older furniture such the armchair or desk. You may have stayed in our 2 Bedroom Apartments whereby only some have been renovated. You said in your review that you travelled in January. That makes me think that you may have came immediately after the fires we had in early Jan. We had no power for 10 days, no internet and the café was closed for 15 days reopened on the 20th of January. That was a challenging time for us to keep operating in abnormal situation partly with generators. No excuse however...

All of our rooms are checked daily for cleanliness after housekeeping has finished and before guests arrive. We apologise wholeheartedly that the cleanliness did not meet your requirements and would have been most happy to make amends or offer another room if you had approached us with your concerns during your stay. If you ever decide to visit the peninsula again please let us know and we will gladly offer you to stay here free of charge.

For us it was a welcome stay while we had no home of our own. We stayed for 2 weeks while we were waiting to get a permanant rental here in Nubeena. Parsons Bay Retreat is interesting and has some flare. We stayed in two different units during our stay. #10 and #5. I much preferred #5 because it has a beautiful view and the lounge area feels more open and lighted. It is clean. Yes some things are dated but it's clean and the beds are comfortable. And who wouldn't want a chance to stay and enjoy the Tasman Peninsula from Nubeena! Staff are always friendly and helpful. The two bedroom units typically can sleep 6-8. Full kitchens are small but functional. The Hub restaurant is on premises. Water must be boiled before drinking. There is an indoor pool, spa and sauna. But the pool is heavily chlorinated... gave me a headache just sitting in the pool building.

We stayed here for 2 nights, myself, husband, my parents and my 9 month old daughter. It was in a good location for exploring the peninsula and was a good price compared to most other places we looked at. The apartment itself was a bit tired looking, it was one of the two bedroom ones at the front of the complex and it could be done with a bit of redecoration. My daughter is still crawling and the carpets looked like they had been down for decades so wasn't too keen on her crawling on them. Apart from that, the apartment was clean, the staff were very friendly and the beds were comfortable so we would consider staying here again if we came back.
