“A night in the forrest”

Great park, (get a week natioanl park voucher if you plan to visit more than one national park)
Russell falls were a 15 min walk and spectacular in an enchanted forrest.
Great park $20.00 per night, washing mach and dryer availible. free elect BBQs in a good but basic camp kitchen. On a beatiful river.

We drove to Mount Field National Park ($24 per vehicle entry) with the hope of seeing a lot of wildlife and Russell Falls, we managed to see the falls which were impressive but it was pretty limited for wildlife other than the Pademelons that came out at night.
We stayed on the parks campsite which cost us $20 for 2 people and had a decent sized toilet and shower building as well as powered sites for campsites. It also had a sheltered eating area that is next to the stream which I imagine would be very nice in the summer.
It was a shame that the only transport was our campervan because the lake had frozen over and was meant to be stunning but we were told our van wouldn’t make it up the roads.
As we hadn’t come to do any long walks because of a limited about of time on Tasmania we could only do the short walk near the campsite which took us to Russell Falls, Horseshoe Falls and then along the Tall Tree walk which was very impressive.
Too be honest, if we knew we were going to see so little and for the money we paid we probably wouldn’t have come, it would be much more beneficial to stay for 2 or 3 days and go further into the national park

We stayed one night here. Location was great, clean facilities, plus staff at visitors centre were really helpful. Did some walks, to the falls, which was easy for the kids. Lots of animals activity at night.
