Peaceful Walk, well worth the drive.
Better get to it before they spoil it, like they have spoiled the walk to the falls.

We booked a day tour via Tours Tasmania which the itinerary includes the Lake Dobson. We walked around the trekking track around the lake which provided us stunning views from different angles. The lake is shallow and the water is crystal clear which allowed plenty of opportunities for photo taking. We enjoyed the entire trekking experience and had very good time there!

Hiked to Than Shelf but very resent snow and wind means little to see fagus wise, although the views are still super special. Lake Dobson was full of colour

Absolutely gorgeous area, we even had snow. So pretty, a little cold, but lovely in the sun and we were lucky with no wind. A walk to the lake is a must...so clear. We had amazing blye skies as well.

Only a small proportion of visitors to the park bother to drive up to Lake Dobson, possibly because it is an unsealed and winding mountain road. There is a good sized carpark at Lake Dobson and there is a short walk along the edge of the lake leading to a pandanus grove. Lovely alpine scenery. There are longer walks from here as well.
