Blackwood Park Cottages Mole Creek

We stayed in the Heritage Cottage for the last 2 nights of a 2 week trip to Tassie and I think we saved the best til last. The place is beautiful and it was lovely to sit at the dining table with a cup of tea and home-made muffin whilst the kids ran around exploring the "fairy garden" and shyly trying to pat the baby alpaca.

A lot of love has gone into the Blackwood Cottages and it shows. There are 2 bedrooms, one with a queen bed and en suite and one with 2 singles and separate bathroom. The lounge is open plan leading to kitchen and dining area in a "conservatory" type space with doors opening to the amazing view. This is a great location near to the caves and great foodie places to visit, along with horse riding up at Blaze Trail Rides.

I would certainly recommend Blackwood Park Cottages to anyone looking for a rural stay and some well-deserved peace and quiet.

PS probably the only thing I would change would be delivering the following mornings bread, still warm the afternoon before..... unfortunately it never made it to breakfast as it was too good lol!

This is the third time that we have stayed at the cottages. We love this place, it is our home away from home! We are booked in again for later on in the year. Could not say enough wonderful things about the place or owners - absolutely lovely caring people. Thankyou so much for always making us welcome!

The privacey and attention to detail both inside the cottage and outside in the surrounding garden, was evident the moment you arrive, a sense of instant relaxation. To have "free" reign of the property was something special and made our stay very enjoyable, treated like family. We stayed 4 nights, the hosts Michelle & Alan, suggested things to do and see, some not on the "normal" tourist route which we appreciated.
Highly recommended, going back again love it

This was our second visit. We fell in love with place and talked our friends into joining us this time round. They're now under its spell and it is now an annual event for us all.
The cottages each have their own character and history and the gardens and grounds are just lovely -- the views from the property are breathtaking and at the end of a days sightseeing to come home to a log fire blazing away just adds to that " this is how life should be lived" feeling
Just a wonderful place with excellent discreet service from the lovely owners Alan and Michelle
The home baked muffins and free range eggs from the chickens supplied daily just adds to that feeling that your in a special place

We were not able to stay, but can only comment on our booking experience. I was looking forward to staying here, and had booked over 9 months ahead - with numerous emails confirming the date. A final email by me, just days prior to leaving, elicited a response that said said "Sorry ... we thought you were coming last week ...or similar". As we had only booked in for one night, perhaps a longer booking came along and we were bumped - or perhaps the booking system leaves a lot to be desired. Either way, no suggestion was made as to alternative places, until prompted by me. I suggested that if a double booking had accidently been made surely the prior booking ( 9 months ahead!) should have priority....to no avail, making me think the new booking was more profitable for the business. The muffins etc sound lovely, but nothing will negate the disappointment of thinking a trip was all planned, and being left to flounder at the last minute due to poor ethics or efficiency. I wouldn't take this risk here again.

You are obviously very disappointed and again I sincerely apologise for the misunderstanding. Measures have been put into place to ensure that errors such as these do not occur in future. Let me assure you yet again that you were certainly not deliberately “bumped” and that the only email I received from you confirming the date was the one replied to.

From the moment we arrived at Blackwood Park the surroundings were breathtaking. We stayed in the Hobbit Cottage and it was magnificent!

We arrived to a warm cosy fire and freshly baked home made bread and muffins. The cottage has plenty of room and the kitchen, bedrooms, lounge and bathroom was spotless and very comfy. The scenery from the front and back doors are a dream - a private paradise.

Thanks for letting us share your little piece of paradise Michelle and Alan! You were a delight - as were Gus and Jack!

We will definitely return
Helen

The house is a beautiful old house set in lovely countryside with an amazing short walk very close by. It's also pretty close to Cradle Mountain and very close to some amazing limestone caves. The house is very well appointed, comfortable and has most everything you need along with some books and Monopoly etc. Michelle and Alan were very friendly and extremely helpful, making phone calls to local businesses one afternoon when I was trying to source some baby panadol. Michelle's father was a real sweetie and let me tag along with the kids to feed the alpacas one day. Michelle bakes you fresh muffins and bread everyday also which was a lovely bonus and great to come home to after a day exploring. The only downside I would say was we found the bed a bit hard and creaky to get in and out of but this is the only thing I could say anything about. Highly recommended.
