Old Wesleydale Heritage Accomodation
Ranked #1 of 3 Mole Creek B&B and Inns

This probably the best stay we had in our four weeks in Tasmania. By far.
You will be the only guests. You will have a huge apartment, equipped with everything you can dream of and everything is of best quality (the towels, the coffee etc'). Breakfast is included and you can have it outside, in the amazing garden (which the owners open occasionally to the public, to great acclaim). The house itself is one of "Tasmania Great Houses" and mentioned in all the books. Curious people will find a lot to explore there. The grounds are large and include a lake full of water birds; there is a lot of wildlife to experience all around. Then there are the chooks, the parrots and if you are lucky, lots of marsupials coming to taste the food.
The location is quiet, far from the road, but very close to Deloraine and Mole Creek. It is a good base for exploring Walls of Jerusalem. Alum Cliffs is just around the corner (a must). The wild-life park next door is also a must. There are also a bee farm and a salmon farm not too far.
The owners are welcoming, friendly and extremely helpful. Join them for feeding the parrots and you'll have a great experience.
Highly recommended. Definitely top of my list in Tasmania and a place I would do my best to visit again.

We stayed at Old Wesleydale for 3 nights and loved it! What an amazing estate - so full of history and a photographers dream
cottage was beautifully appointed and a real home away from home. Bed was very comfy as were the pillows!
A visit to the Macaws was also very special. Overall - a wonderful stay.

This would have been the best B&B I stayed at while in Tasmania during January 2013. it's was like having a little house of our own, bed, lounge, kitchen and cute bathroom, with everything beautifully decorated.

To be amazed by such a well cared for loved garden, and to see such amazing macaws in Deb and Scott's sensational aviary, Every thing was perfection, the view is to say 'breathtaking'. Cows running down the nearby paddocks and crystal clears waters in surrounding lakes.

Was a joy to stay here, and only wish I had stayed longer. Next time for sure. Thanks.

Room Tip: there is only one, staying here makes you feel special.

We had the privilege of staying at Old Wesleydale for two nights during our April holiday to Tasmania this year. What can I say. WOW. As you drive up the long driveway you can see the old Georgian house peeping out from the surrounding trees, drystone walls and wonderful elephant hedge. You can feel the history drawing you in and you know you want to see more. The outbuildings include an amazing historic barn surrounded by a stone wall with picturesque trees bordering the entrance way. As we stepped out of our car we were warmly greeted by "Molly" the dog who happened to be visiting that weekend, Molly quickly showed us the way through the stone archway and down the garden path to meet Deb. The stone cottage used for the B & B sits snugly besides the house and welcomes you in. It was perfect. The fireplace, cosy armchairs, kitchen with plates on the wall, deep windows with outstanding views. We were very contented. The walled garden is spectacular, even the chook house looks amazing with the flowers and vines around it. Deb & Scott have done an amazing job transforming this property. It is a real gem and we hope to come back again one day. Do yourself a favour, don't just watch the tv show Escape to the Country, do it for real by Escaping to Old Wesleydale for a few nights instead. You won't regret it !

We agree with all the comments previously posted. This property and surrounds are a credit to Deb & Scott. The only thing we found disappointing was that the advertised full breakfast provisions for us were just 4 eggs and 6 slices of bread to last for a 3 night stay for 2 persons, thus leaving us in the embarrassing "Oliver Twist" position of having to ask for more.

A fantastic location for touring, as we were doing, or that 'special' occasion. Friendly owners, marvellous accommodation. All furnishings in keeping with the age. Take a walk around the pond and play 'spot the platypus'. Great spot to embark on day trips to Launceston and Cradle Mountain. Is it possible to score a property 6 out of 5 - yes it is! Try it, you won't be disappointed.

The owners Deb and Scott have done a fantastic job restoring this 1830 farm house into a very comfortable self contained apartment. Everything about the whole place is fantastic. From the moment you drive up the long driveway you gain a feeling of history that just gets better as you discover other aspects of the establishment like platypus and swans in the dam, macaws in the aviary, beautiful lawns and gardens, drystone walls, trimmed hedges. Just wonderful to stay here for at least 2 nights
