We have just had lunch at the Larder and were really surprised by the previous reviews as we just had a fantastic meal. We shared a grazing platter which was all local produce and presented beautifully. The chef even bought it out to us and explained where the produce came from and that some of the items were even from her own vege garden! The staff member that took our order was very knowledgable about the local area and wines and gave us a taste of a couple of local wines that we then enjoyed a glass of with the platter. He also gave us plenty of family friendly local places to visit as well. Highly recommended.

It is sad to see that nothing has changed with this place. Twelve months ago we booked for a large party for dinner on a Saturday night. When we tried to place our orders we were told that most of the dishes we wanted were not available and there was only two serves of one other popular dish. We had booked weeks in advance so surely it would have been wise of them to make sure there was sufficient food! In the end we waited one hour and forty minutes for our meals and when they did arrive, two people were forgotten entirely! The food was very ordinary - absolutely no reason to go back and try again especially after reading the recent reviews.

Margaret, as a local, you would be aware that we now have a new menu, new staff, new management team and a whole new approach. That incident more than 12 months ago prompted us to close evening meals until we had the team in place that could deliver. We re-launched Fish n Chip Fridays three weeks ago - and have had fantastic evenings on the deck with many fabulous locals and tourists. We certainly hope you will come back to join us very soon....

If you must got there, don't pay for your food or drinks before you get it or simple...you wont get it...
Your order will go missing and you will get forgotten for an hour or more...Then after reminding the staff three times you will get undercooked revolting food. Stay away......it is simply not worth the drive. Young inexperienced waitress who took order is atrocious and should be dismissed.

We continue to be ever so apologetic about your experience in our business. We had one table of four booked in on this day. We had more than 120 people walk in without bookings for lunch within a two hour period. Our young staff member that forgot to place your order was extremely sorry and it was an honest mistake. We pride ourselves on employing young local people, as well as experienced hospitality professionals, up-skilling them and working towards exceeding the every expectation of every customer. Lilydale Larder is all about sharing our love of local produce and beverages and we will continue to strive to improve all aspects of the Larder experience...

Enquired when booking about Gluten Free options for our 3 year old child and was told that there would be options, only to find out when we arrived that they were not able to accommodate our request. Staff and Chef totally unwilling to help. Food average and nothing special. Don't waste fuel travelling from Launceston as there are similar experiences to be had there.
