“How long can you last in the sauna?”
Reviewed April 10, 2018 for a stay in April 2018

WOW!
From the minute we stepped in the door to Alex’s (and Ollie’s) warm welcome and offered us lovely treats of baked King Island Camembert, plus cheese board of local delights, and hot chicken strips, and a glass of bubbles – we knew we had made the right choice of accommodation for our 4.5 days on the island.
As we took the tour of the house, we were all blown away with the attention to detail, the comfort it offered and what about that magnificent panorama with its many vantage points, it was everything we hoped it would be and more.
The bedrooms and beds were beautifully decorated with great quality linens and comfortable beds. The bathrooms were spacious and offered heated flooring which was a real treat, and the lovely bathroom products were also a hit.
The kitchen was well appointed and provided everything we needed, and the living area was very comfortable and made even more special with the tasteful fire place.
But it was outside we had some of our most enjoyable times by simply sitting in the hot-tub looking out across the Great Southern Ocean was a surreal experience. And the sauna with a view, such a fantastic and thoughtful touch, provided us with a wonderful sense of wellbeing not to mention fun as we had competitions to see who could last the longest!
We also loved your approach to sustainable practices in conserving water and energy to reduce the footprint. That gets a big tick from us.
The house was truly our home and sanctuary for our time on the island and we loved every minute we were there, so much, we said that when we return we will book another couple of days post the Long Table festival so we can just stay at the house and do nothing but take in the magnificent, unspoilt view.
Thank you, Alex, for your exceptional hospitality, and Russell, we hope you are not out fishing next time we are there, or at least bring us back a few…

“Brilliant (did I mention the Pavlova??)”
Reviewed March 17, 2018 for a stay in March 2018

Thank you to Alex and Russell, we had a great time and the only issue for us was that we did not stay any longer. We were on the island to play golf and were only there for two nights - my advise to others on a similar schedule is the plan in an extra “chill” day, get some of the famous cheeses and a nice bottle and just hang around the house and enjoy it - we sadly did not!
The other piece of advice is to ask Alex to organise the catered dinner in the beach house - we did do this and it was excellent, it is very highly recommended, you might be able to convince Alex to make you a Pavlova - ours was really good!
All this however is secondary to the hospitality of the hosts, we arrived late due to a problem with our transport from Tasmania, so it was after dark when we arrived, Russell had put his car lights in so that we could easily see where the house was, Alex greeted us with a glass of champers and showed us through the place so that we could enjoy without any hitches. A couple of followup text messages to check that we were not having any issues and being there when we checking out was a nice touch. The entire package is an example of how luxury short term accommodation should be delivered - I have no hesitation in recommending Porky’s Beach House to everyone, in the wise words of Molly Meldrum - do yourself a favour....

“Amazing!”
Reviewed February 4, 2018 for a stay in December 2017

We spent a wonderful 2 weeks holidaying as a family with our 2 young girls at Porky Beach House 27 Dec 17 – 10 Jan 18. We would describe the house / stay as a perfect hybrid blend of luxury beach house crossed with a high end luxury lodge experience. We stumbled upon King Island and Porky Beach House by accident while 'Googling', looking for a luxury beachfront house to rent. Straight away we thought it looked amazing. After less than a minute conversation on the phone with the wonderful Alexandra we were sold that this was the holiday for us, and we were booking the house and our flights to King Island. While making it all look effortless, Alexandra’s vision for the accommodation and experience she strives to deliver her guests is pure hospitality genius. We honestly believe Alexandra has created the best beach house holiday experience on offer in Australia, or maybe anywhere. Every amenity and facility in the house is of the highest standard - even better than described. The beaches all over King Island are stunning, especially the beaches right in front of the house. We spent our days playing on the beach with the kids, swimming for hours at a time. The long sunny evenings sitting on the deck watching the sun set are pure magic. Alexandra is the X factor that takes Porky Beach House to such incredible heights! It is obvious that she gets so much joy out of seeing her guests happy that she can’t help but deliver such a wonderful holiday experience. Alexandra showered us and our girls with genuine care and love for our whole stay….. Alexandra we can’t thank you enough!

“Great place to celebrate a special occassion”
Reviewed January 31, 2018 for a stay in January 2018

A nice secluded location with beach frontage. We spent 3 nights here to celebrate my 60th birthday. It was amazing! Alexandra and Russell (the owners) met us on arrival and walked us through the stunning house. A magnificent cheese platter and hot nibbles had been prepared for our arrival along with a bottle of wine. We ordered a BBQ dinner hamper as well as a breakfast hamper and there was enough food provided for our entire stay. The house was fully equipped with high quality appliances and had everything you could want. Outside was a terrific deck, a hot tub and a sauna which was just amazing. We had three amazing sunsets which could be viewed from either inside the house, in the sauna or in the hot tub. Thank you Alex and Russell for making my 60th birthday such a memorable occasion.

“Fabulous property in superb location”
Reviewed January 22, 2018 for a stay in January 2018

The property was sensational and impeccably presented with every luxury you could ever ask for. The views were outstanding. Especially loved the beach access and the family of wallabies that visited us daily
Alexandra is a wonderful host. She met us on arrival with a superb lunch of local cheeses and hot nibbles accompanied by wine. What a friendly way to be greeted just like King Island

“A Truly Unbelievable Experience”
Reviewed January 12, 2018 for a stay in January 2018

Alexandra's house is unbelievable! It really takes your breath away, every detail is perfectly considered and comfort is without doubt, key!! The location of the property is perfect, with an almost private beach at the bottom of the property. The ocean views are spectacular and enjoyed from the clean, modern hot tub or the ultra luxurious sauna! Alexandra is the most beautiful, welcoming, generous host and she makes the entire experience faultless! I cannot overstate this experience! Thank you Alexandra, you and your house gave us the best family holiday yet!

“Luxurious getaway in beautiful King Island”
Reviewed December 27, 2017 for a stay in December 2017

We had the most amazing few days at Porky beach house! Alex and Russel were the most generous and welcoming hosts, organising a car for our stay, recommending countless things to do and making us feel at home on King Island. The house is truly amazing. With breathtaking views from every room and beautiful decor, it was very hard to leave! We spent many hours on the deck and in the spa and sauna, drinking wine and wallaby spotting. With the advice of Alex and Russell, we went surfing at Martha Lavinia (and were the only ones on the beach!), played golf at Cape Wickham... one of the best courses in Australia, saw the spectacular views at Seal Rocks and the petrified forest, swam in the magnificent blue water at Phoques beach and tasted the best cheese in the world at the King Island cheese factory (just down the road!) Thank you so much for making our stay so memorable. We will definitely be back!
