Having stayed at luxury beach houses all over the world our three day stay at this little gem of property was right up there. Alexandra’s personal touch made all the difference to our group of very well traveled golfers. The house was great and would recommend it for small groups.
Fabulous beach house tastefully decorated an spotlessly clean. Service from Alexandra was faultless. Definitely recommend to groups and families visiting King Island.
A short drive from the airport past the King Island Dairy cheese factory/shop and up the drive to Porkys Beach House. Walk in the front door to the most wonderful, beautiful home with the most stunning views to Bass Strait. 100 metres down to your own beach, a lovely, short walk left or right to about four more. Wallabies in the backyard. The kitchen has the best of everything, the beds are like clouds, the unbelievable shower view, the woodfire, the lounge. There is a sauna and a hot tub overlooking the ocean. Close to the number 1 and 3 golf courses in Australia, Close to The main township of Currie. We will be back as soon as possible. Thankyou Alex for being the best host and making our dreams come true. Incredible.
Four couples on a weekend away - better than we imagined. Alex looked after us and even catered for our 3 course meal including King Island crayfish and steak! The venue is great for relaxing - spa, sauna and what a view.
We'll be back.
I am not someone who tends to write many reviews, however I had to share this unique accommodation retreat. Arrived for a week of relaxation, golf and eating King Island's amazing produce. I have travelled the world extensively and this would be the first time, I have ever experienced an amazing wood sauna situated outside, overlooking the beach and ocean. It is simply to die for. The views can't be captured as to how it is, when walking through the door. On top of also having a sunken red cedar hot tub, it was magic. The retreat has every conceivable item you will need during your stay, even yoga mats.
We had the most wonderful chef come to the retreat and cook fresh crayfish, oysters and King Island beef. We felt incredibly spoilt and the fact you don't have to drive is just wonderful. Worth the money.
Magnificent golf courses, Wickham has stunning views on every hole, with challenging approaches. You might need a lot of balls. The 17th hole is something to be seen and experienced. Staff were terrific and we enjoyed a lovely lunch.
What we enjoyed so much was returning home after a day golfing and enjoying drinking Tasmanian Whiskey in crystal glasses as we watched the sun set. It is so worth not staying in a hotel room and enjoying the best of King Island. It's ultimately an experience we won't forget and I have already arranged a visit to bring other friends in 6 months. Thank you for going above and beyond and providing something so special. The attention we received was discreet but attentive.
One thing to remember, don't bring fresh salmon sushi over from Melbourne, bio security will confiscate on arriving at King Island.

Beach on your door step, views that will take your breath away. We had 5 of the best days staying at Porkys. There is not a thing they haven't thought of. Cedar hot tub & sauna with a breath taking view. It really is the place to go chill and unwind.
We hired a car from the host to take in the island, cheese factory one day, golf course the next. Amazed at the lush green rolling fields full of King Island dairy and beef cattle. Would stay again!
Thank you Porkys & King Island for an unforgettable Holiday!
Alexandra is a beautiful host and the property is stunning. Prepare to settle in for a long, amazing relax. Just one night there toally recharged my batteries. Incredible views, rugged landscape and luxurious facilities. Heaven.
