Everything here was relaxing, friendly, comfortable and clean. The historic building is beautifully arranged and the rooms are like heaven. Karen and Glen were very kind and helped with good tips and advice for our day trips. The excellent cooked breakfast in the morning gave us full strength for the whole day! This place has to be fully recommended!

We've stayed at many B&B's in several countries, and this is without doubt the best of the best. The hosts, Karen and Glen are simply the nicest, most relaxed people we have ever stayed with. It was as if we'd known each other for half a lifetime. It was somehow like going to visit your favorite uncle and aunt, except that they are both younger than we are. The house was spotless, the showers hot, beds great, and the breakfast was superb. How did Glen know that underneath my 97 pound weakling exterior I was really a Tasmanian lumberjack, and then feed me a wonderful cooked breakfast? And that was after the cereal, with Karen's home grown stewed rhubarb and apple. We'll be going out of our way to stay there again. Thanks Karen and Glen

From the first contact with Karen and Glen to make our booking - friendly and efficient. The house is a beautiful old house with a great history. The rooms are spacious, clean and very comfortable. Set in beautiful cottage gardens with a river at the bottom where the platapus play. The breakfasts are fantastic, fresh fruit from the garden, cooked breakfast - can highly recommend the mushrooms and home made preserves for freshly cooked toast. But its the small things that make clients feel special - fluffy towels, fresh milk every day for making coffee and tea in your room, fresh flowers on the mantel piece the list goes on. Thank you Karen and Glen haven't slept so well in years and highly recommend your beautiful home to anyone.

Lovely old building, fantastic food (esp the home grown rhubarb) and really nice hosts, not to mention the platypi (platypuses?) in the creek. Cambridge House has it all - and in the centre of a beautiful part of Tasmania. We'll def be staying there the next time we're in the area!

This was our probably our favorite lodging on our entire Australia trip. The Cambridge House was built by an original Geeves of Geeveston, and his timber career is reflected in the lovely wood throughout. Each day began with a wonderful breakfast featuring Karen's homemade fruit compotes (blackberry and apple, rhubarb from the garden). They sell wine and beer here, which is nice, but they were also fine that we had brought a few special bottles to celebrate the end of our trip. Geeveston is the entryway to the Hartz Mountains, which provided lovely walks, from the easy to the strenuous. The highlight, as numerous reviewers note, is the creek teeming with platypuses that runs through the property. My friend and I wandered over at 7:30 in the evening, wondering if we would see one: before we could even formulate the question we saw one cruising in the river. The second night we saw half a dozen. Incredible!! Also, on't miss out on the hosts' simple dinner: a delicious and enormous bowl of homemade soup (we had pumpkin among three choices) and good, flavorful rolls, plus a homemade dessert (highly recommend the pear cake). At $12 this is a true bargain in this very expensive country. It put meals I had there that cost four times that to shame. We would stay here again in a heartbeat.

This was my 2nd trip to the cambridge house and the first for my partner. The house is amazing and the rooms beautiful. The owners are delightful and a pleasure to still and talk to about travels and options around the area.
Looking forward to the next time we have the opportunity to stay at the Cambridge House

A pleasant interlude in a lovely part of this beautiful country of ours, and to actually see native Platypus thrive in their natural habitat in the river that runs adjacent to the property was a wonderful sight.
Cambridge House is a step back into time, with it's archictecture and history.
Added to this a wonderful breakfast with Karen's special hand picked and prepared Rhubarb, Mixed Berries and yoghurt topped off with Glen's special Bacon & eggs.
