This tree top walk is for everyone. My elderly mother managed the airwalk easily. Seats provided for rests and plenty of hand rails made it an experience she could enjoy. Shortcuts provided for wheelchair bound visitors. My mother also easily managed the one hour walk to and from the suspended bridges however at her pace took another half hour. Perhaps a few more seats along this path would help. A great experience for us all!

This place far exceeded my expectations and not just because of the AirWalk but because of all the other forest experiences one can enjoy. The riverside walk over the suspension bridges is a must for anyone who wants a little bit of adventure, kids love it!
Even the cafe with its deck overlooking the river is a pleasant place to enjoy and a place to gather information and see some amazing photos of the floods.
We spent 4 hours here without any trouble. There are also a few interesting stops on the road up to the AirWalk so allow time for these and a visit to the interpretive centre in Geeveston (where you can buy your tickets to the AirWalk). On the way home don't forget to stop and search for Platypus along the banks of the river in Geeveston.
Make the AirWalk is one of your 'must do's; during your Southern Tasmania visit. An easy drive from Hobart.

Wow we had the most beautiful walk, peaceful to say the least. The walk was easy, best way is to start is on the air walk then when you have finished that join the swinging bridges trail, it's mostly down hill this way. Have a bit of fun and be a kid again and swing the bridge it's very safe. Watching the water rush underneath you was very cool. Staff are very friendly and the cakes and coffee are great. The drive from Hobart has little towns along the way so stop and have a look around if you have time. Hope you enjoy it as much a we did.

We enjoyed our half day at the Tahune Forest Airwalk. We were sold tickets by a jovial woman who explained all there is to do there. Our day started with a coffee of quite acceptable quality in the cafe attached to the visitors centre. I thought the walk above the trees was sturdily build and at no time did I feel unsafe. My husband is afraid of heights and he did not manage to walk far before he had to return and wait for me at the other end on the ground. He managed at the Otway treetop walk but he thought this was much higher. There is a lovely view of the Picton and the Huon Rivers converging and the waters are quite noticable where they merge. Though the walkway is above most trees, there are still some very tall trees that grow above the walkway. Some have signs telling us the type of tree which was good. The walkway arm looks much scarier from the ground then when you are actually on it. It seems just like the rest of the walk. The air smells lovely up there with the scents from the trees wafting up. Next we went on a pleasant walk through the forest and onto a swing bridge over the Huon River, Hubby coped with this as it was not too high above the water and nobody rocked it while we were crossing. The walk continues with another similar swing bridge to bring us back to the Visitor's centre about 40 minutes later. I would love to have tried the Eagle hang gliding but was not allowed! Despite being school holidays, it still seemed a very peaceful place.
