We loved this trip to the marine farm. We did it through Saffire and got to learn about oyster farming as well as eat oysters straight from the sea. Now we're spoiled forever! Great experience!!!

I want going to have the $15 scallops but as I as waiting to order I saw scallops go out and decided I would get something more substantial so went for the $25 abalone. Unfortunately the serving size was as tiny as the scallops. The abalone was full of flavour, but it was overlooked and rubbery, and there was so little of it. I would barely say it was entree sized. As I was still hungry I ordered the steamed mussels with lemon. This was a much more realistic portion for $18. The mussels were of good quality, there was one unopened which I did not eat. This place is a cash cow, they are doing a thriving business. The service was quick. But given how much money they must be taking in I think they need to be more generous with their portion sizes. Sadly this place has been the lowlight of my while Tasmanian trip from south to west to north to east coast. I would not return here and cannot recommend it, especially if you are hungry.

Hello, Thank you for taking the time to review us, I am sorry you had such a negative experience. Abalone is an extremely expensive product, we really have it on the menu for people to taste, so Im sorry if you felt ripped of.
The mussels we grow at our farm along with the oysters, So i'm glad you you were able to sample them. Im not sure we are a cash cow!!
Eatser is an extremely busy time for us, and this can sometimes make the place very busy. We try hard to deliver fresh seafood out of a very simple farm gate cafe. I hope your travels for the rest of Tasmania are good, Kind Regards
Julia

We were in different oyster sheds in Tasmania and price are roughly about 12-14 per dozen for take away. However, this one is the same price, I think is about $18? And quality is almost the same as others! Guess a lot of tourists visit here.
But the pickled octopus is great for our camping!

If you're looking for a flash restaurant/cafe you won't get it here but what you will get is an opportunity to try some wonderful seafood prepared fresh before you. The servings are not enormous but are enough to give you an idea of what Tassie has to offer. My husband and I chose a couple of options and shared - like a seafood tapas. It was fresh and good quality.
It's a nice little pit stop if you are looking for a quick bite.
