We stayed in the cottages for 2 nights. Upon opening the door you have the most amazing view across the water to Hazards Mountains. The cottages are an excellent modern take on a beach shack. The radio on the wall was a nice retro touch. The cottages are fully self contained including a washing machine and a full kitchen. But the view......amazing! The cottages are very private and the visits to our door by the local wallabies make a lovely nature experience. I never wanted to leave and dream of going back.

Recently spent 2 nights at this fantastic resort. Room was more than comfortable and it was so relaxing to have breakfast on the back deck with the wallaby's. Restaurant was also excellent.
Seafood linguinie was the best I have had in a long, long time!
Would recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a peaceful place to relax.

A good general hotel and with amazing outlook. Disappointing that there was no dining room breakfast and the dinner was average food at best. However, it was great to have a good sized suite to relax in and the staff were friendly and helpful.

We had nowhere to stay and called by at 5.30pm to be received by the most friendly and charming Reception/manager. We eagerly accepted the only recently cancelled Suite.
The view over the bay and the Hazards took our breath away- but that was not all - we had our own pet kangaroo just outside and in 20 yards we were on the gently sloping red rocks on the water side. We quickly grabbed a glass of wine and just sat and marvelled at the setting.
Our room was well equipped with heated bathroom floor.
We reserved a place in the restaurant and watched the sunset. The Saffron Seafood linguine was unique and memorable for the excellent balance of flavours. We were not going to have a dessert but saw them being served to others and succumbed - it was delicious.
We learnt that husband and wife team were working together and owned by an Australian family - it showed.
We could not have ended 3 weeks in Australia on a better note than 2 nights on the Edge.
I have only given one 5 star but this could be 6.

We came into Coles Bay with the area booked out and only a cabin at the Edge of the Bay available. Whilst it was expensive it was amazing. The view from the beautiful cabins across the water and the serenity and privacy of the place made it a wonderful experience. The restaurant was first class and the service friendly and professional. We had our two kids and they loved the place using the tennis courts and the bikes as well.

Room Tip: Get a room that looks directly over the ocean - you will pay more but it is worth it

We stayed in an oceanview suite for 3 nights in late December. We had a fantastic time and were really impressed with the standard of the accommodation. The suite was modern, clean and spacious.

The best thing about it was the fantastic view across the water, looking onto the Hazards mountains. It was a beautiful outlook. The suite also felt quite private because of the way each room was positioned. The suite had its own deck and it was lovely sitting there soaking up the sun and the views. The resort was booked out for this period but it didn't feel crowded at all and we rarely came across other guests.

At one point we had considered staying at Saffire but in the end decided it was too expensive. From what we could tell, Edge of the Bay had a very similar outlook and we were really glad we made the decision to stay there as it had everything we wanted for a fraction of the price.

The resort had a couple of tennis courts (racquets and balls were supplied), multiple bikes to use and a few rowing boats you could take out on the water. The beach was easily accessible from our room - about 30 seconds from the door.

Rooms were serviced daily and staff were very friendly without being intrusive. The resort is run by a lovely German couple.

We ate in the resort's restaurant two nights we were there. We were really impressed by the food - delicious and excellent presentation. Resort guests are given a $30 discount each night to use in the restaurant so that made it a cheaper experience (mains were around the $30 - $35 mark). Portion sizes were generous and the food presented was of a high standard. The restaurant also had a lovely outlook over the water.

I couldn't fault this place. It's certainly not bargain basement but I think good value for the type of accommodation that is offered. If you are after a lovely experience with amazing views, it's a perfect option for couples. It was one of the nicest places we stayed at during our holiday in Tasmania.
