“Cottage by the sea where the biggest hazards are the hills of the Freycinet NP.”

We stayed in No13, a 2 bedroom, self contained pine cottage. Its got everything you need for a relaxed summer vacation, including a kitchen with decent knives(always a good sign!), own laundry, and firewood BBQ. There's no formal dining table but benches inside and out for informal eating for 5 if you need somewhere to rest your plate. But lets face it, mostly you'll be grabbing your plate and eating on the comfy sofa's, day beds or the sand in between walks, cycles, tennis and swims. Drinking water from rainwater tanks is piped to a seperate tap inside the kitchen. There are two small clothes lines strung up around the side. Views from the double room and lounge of 'the hazards', the pink granite hills, of Freycinet NP, change colour throughout the day and you won't get this view from the lodge inside the park. We saw bream, stingray, morwong and other fish while snorkling off the rocks 5 mins walk away. You can walk into Coles Bay to get the papers along the beaches even at high tide with a couple of small granite hops along the way. Bicycles, tennis court and dinghys are also available.

It's all about a great location - located on the waterfront. Walk a few metres and you're on the beach. Wake up in the morning and all you hear are the sounds of the wind and waves.
We chose a cottage as we had 10 days just the two of us and then 5 days when our adult daughter returned for Christmas. It's self-contained with a comprehensive range of cooking items, a generous fridge and basic stove.
Everything inside the cabin is well maintained with the interior finished in pine - totally appropriate for a beachside location. Lots of windows looking across the water to the Hazards.
Outside is all very natural with local wildlife regularly visiting, especially early in the morning and towards evening.
And finally, try the restaurant. The new chef is pretty impressive and has delivered a small, but quality menu.

We were very impressed with the standard of accommodation and service at the Edge. Our studio was modern, spacious, spotlessly clean and came with modern appliances. We liked the large comfortable bed, the tea making facilities, the flat screen TV and the sizeable bathroom with piping hot water.
The full length window opened onto arguably one of the best views in the world, the Freycinet mountains in the background and the sand and red rock beach on our doorstep. We watched the sunrise from our bed (!) and watched the sunset from the exceptionally fine restaurant on the site. The food and wine list is very good.
The whole setting is quiet and relaxing and we cannot recommend it highly enough. The National Park is near by and is a must for any visitor.
And incidentally, our stay was not as expensive as the famous complex down the road!

Edge of the Bay has an amazing view across the bay at Freycient NP. Endless empty beaches, and very calm waters if you want to wade in. This resort blends in wonderfully with nature with native plants, birds and animals in abundance. You will see wallabies-multiple times each day. The views, the peacefulness and the calmness alone are awesome.

The restaurant is quite good, fish was amazing as was the filet. They do seem to have a few rules about making a reservation by a certain time etc, so just work within the rules and you are fine. Free guest laundry, where have i EVER seen that?

Only downside is they are a bit behind the times on the internet. They have a little room you walk to with 1 desk and 1 chair, thats where you can get the wireless, it is the one and only option.

Peaceful impeccably clean place its non smoking so you wont catch a whiff of smoke or see a bit of cigarette butts or litter anywhere. Lunch options are a few km away in Coles Bay or the seafood farm about 5km the other direction.

Wonderful choice, escape lifes cares here. If i was ever too stressed out, i would check in here and never worry about much of anything

Room Tip: they have a beautiful calm bay, who needs a pool?

Wow, what a location, looking directly at the peaks of Freycinet National Park and on a long beach, with a easy walk into Coles Bay. This is a small, first class hotel with beautiful suites directly on the beach. Go to sleep with the sounds of the waves and wake up ready to great your own personal wallaby, hiding under the bushes!!

A thoroughly charming cottage offering fantastic views over the bay. The terrace with its own proper wood BBQ is a delightful location to dine amongst the outback and visiting kangaroos, wallabies and bird life. The accommodation and kitchen is well equipped for complete self sufficiency. Staff are very pleasant and helpful. A small negative, but a pity the windows that otherwise offer such brilliant views, need cleaning!

I think the location of this resort is absolutely stunning. The room was excellent with wild life right on the door step, WOW. The views of the bay and the mountains of Freycinet National Park were beyond compare. The gourmet meals were just a little small as most gourmet meals are. I still had a fantastic time and recommend this to those who love a walk along picturesque coastlines or a hike through pristine bush to the gorgeous Wine Glass Bay or Sleepy Bay.
