We have stayed at several luxury lodges before but nothing has come close to this stay.
As beautiful as the surrounds are, the staff is what made our trip so delightful. Everyone made us feel like nothing was a problem and that we were family. How they do it I do not know.
The activities were well planned and most enjoyable. Whilst the food was as good as I have had anywhere.

We will be back
Thank you to the team at Saffire for making it the best stay bar none

Without doubt the best travel experience we have ever had. From the Hobart airport to the resort and back, there was nothing but flawless attention to detail. The views, the staff, the food, the wine, the rooms, the conversations, the experiences, just everything.

Room Tip: Every room is outrageously great.

My husband and I spent 4 nights at Saffire and from the moment we arrived until the moment we left, we had an unforgettable stay. The view of the Hazards upon entering is breathtaking and the warm welcome we received was second to none. There was even a bottle of bubbly in our room on arrival as we were celebrating our 3rd wedding anniversary.

Our room was spotless and it was maintained that way throughout our stay. We booked a luxury suite which was well appointed and had a great view of the Hazards. There was a generous minibar for those who get peckish between meals (though we struggled to feel hungry after a meal) and the room was stocked with enough creature comforts if you chose to spend most of your time there.

There is an abundance of food at Saffire, so either leave the diet at the front door or avail of their small but well equipped gym because it's all too good to resist and you will be tempted to try everything. The menu changes daily so we had the opportunity to try various produce from the region. We had the degustation menu on our first 2 nights and shifted to the a la carte for the remaining 2 nights. It was all delicious and we were in food comas everyday. A standout dish was the flathead fillets cooked in squid ink on a bed of noodles. Super delicious and it was a nice touch to have the chef come out and serve the main meal at dinner. If you love food and wine, this hotel won't disappoint.

We joined activities which were included in our package and all of them were great. The guides were excellent and so knowledgeable and the walks were fantastic. The visit to the Oyster Farm and the guided walk by a local Aboriginal man were our two favourite activities, though all of them are worth doing. The Freycinet Peninsula really is a beautiful part of Tasmania and is worth exploring no matter what age. It's an easy and scenic drive from Hobart (we took the highway). The hotel is situated a short drive from the main town, however because of the activities, we didn't feel the need to venture out much on our own.

One nice bonus of the Saffire experience is the airport lounge at Hobart. It's a nice, quiet space (with more food and wine!) to wait for your flight in comfort.

The staff at Saffire are to be commended for providing such a high level of service without being pretentious or making a fuss. Every single staff member we came across were warm and very helpful and it was evident that they enjoyed being a part of the team. To Justin, Hugh, Russell, Jen, Lisa, Cameron, Mitchell, Mark, Jess, Natasha, Matt, Mel, Mick, Declan, Joel, Daisy, Elise and the housekeeping and maintenance team: a heartfelt thanks from the both of us for making our stay so enjoyable. You deserve the accolades and we hope to be back in the not too distant future - and for a longer time!

We just got back from Saffire and have not stopped talking about how much we loved the trip.

We only booked our accomadation 2 night before leaving as we had already booked a quick trip to the blue mountains but couldn't go due to fires.

At first we where a little disappointed as our plans had changed so close to leaving, this disappeared as soon as we entered Saffire we where greater by Micah who took us through into the foyer where you are uncounted with the most amazing view, we then turned around to be greeted by 2 glasses of sparkling wine, the check in process was easy and comfortable.

The room - was amazing, beautiful views, a lovely card from the manager wishing my husband a happy birthday, a bottle of sparkling on ice. Decor is beautiful and comfortable, bathroom is lovely. Mini bar was outstanding an defiantly not mini, all inclusive of the cost too and I you eat or drink it gets replaced fr you to consume again.

Food- also amazing, breakfast especially the trout was beautiful, you also always get more than you ask for, I ordered the trout but whilst waiting I got poached fruit, rice pudding and fresh orange juice and then after we finished out main we had little pastries with coffee( basically why I would eat in a whole day I ate for breakfast).
Lunch was fresh and tasty salads, love this as I was still full from breakfast, if you wanted a hot meal that had options too, you also finished off with a cheese platter as a glass of wine whilst overlooking the hazards on extremely comfortable lounges.
Dinner was amazing we did the tasting the first night and al a carte the second, you also have cocktails and canapés before dinner and afternoon tea is also delivered to your room (again something you don't expect but is welcomed.)

Activities - we did the oyster tour which was wonderful and a must for every guest, we walk to wine glass bay and we also did the half day boat trip in which we saw whales, dolphins, seals and birds plus the amazing coastline and yes they feed you again!

Gym - it's small but nice and with so many activities you can easily keep fit and walk off that good without going to the gym.

Staff- all staff where wonderful, friendly and had knowledge of each particular field that thy worked in.

A nice note - the staff wrote "happy birthday "in the pebble garden of our Suite which we both thought was very nice

Lots of other things but wouldn't want to spoil every surprise.

Loved every minute and can't wait to return next year.

This was our second stay. Unfortunately the dinner and breakfast food standards have slipped. Everything else was fantastic.
French toast for brekky was gross and gluggy
Filet Mignon for dinner was over cooked and a cliche-need to attend to menu more closely and execute better.

We were lucky enough to spend a couple of days at Saffire during May whilst on our road trip around Tasmania.

This luxury lodge has a beautiful long walkway leading into a panoramic foyer overlooking the mountainous Hazards range and it is simply spectacular when you walk inside.

On arrival we were greeted with fresh champagne and the friendliness and attention to detail of our hosts was exceptional.

The accommodation itself was flawless, we had a room with a private plunge pool and an outside deck area that looked straight out to the Hazards. A big talking point was the over sized bathroom which contained dual rain forest showers and body spray heads - very luxurious. The lounge and bedroom were no less spectacular with floor to ceiling glass to allow the vistas in.

The food as a whole was excellent, lunch being more buffet style and dinner providing a high end degustation affair. We were impressed by the consistent quality and range of food - this was definitely a highlight. You will not be left wanting food or drink here!

From an activities perspective we thought the oyster farming was very unique and interesting, definitely don't miss this! We also had a guided hike of Coles bay and surrounds including Wine Glass Bay, I thought this was a lesser unique experience and one that you could do on your own just as well (which we had done anyway). We had a private tour also to the local winery at Freycinet Vineyards which was particularly engaging as we spoke to the owner and got to pick his brain on the wine making process, I thought this was a nice addition and recommend it if you are interested in wines.

Saffire stands as one of the best experiences we have ever had, the service is highly efficient, professional and friendly - a balance that is not easy to find. The location and amenities are first class and the food is delicious, what more can be said?
