“"A very cosy stay at Chapel Lane Hall "”
Reviewed August 11, 2013

Had a wonderful 2 nights at the chapel lane hall.We stayed as two couples and there was lots of room to relax .The fire was wonderful and it warmed the place very well .The double bedroom down stairs had its own heater and the queen room upstairs was very cosy, as the fire heated it well. The linen and towels were top quality. The kitchen was well equipped with every thing you needed ,with essential condiments to Eggs and Bacon. The bathroom was beautiful with its own spa bath ,shower and toilet,(could do with a bench to put toiletries on) and there is a spare toilet and laundry. The grounds were nice and well kept and there is a BBQ out on the deck which would be great for warmer days.I would recommend this accommodation as it is great value and is presented well and is a great base for exploring the far south east.

Had a wonderful weekend in the Far South of Tasmania. Driftwood Cottages are a great location from which to travel out from each day. Lovely feeling of going "home" each night to a well appointed self-contained unit. Breakfast basket contained ample food for two days and the small kitchen had all appliances most people would need (a toasted sandwich maker would be a welcome addition!) The underfloor heating made the whole place warm and cosy - especially not having to find slippers when you get up during the night! The view from the front verandah is beautiful from early morning to late evening (see photos). Each unit is named after the timber used in the feature fittings - another great feature. We visited Ida Bay Railway, Cockle Creek and Hastings Caves all within easy reach from there....

I stayed in The Beach House at Driftwood Cottages with my parents and it couldn't have been more idyllic. We were greeting by a warm fire already burning and the most spectacular, uninterrupted views over the water - just perfect! Everything we could want was catered for including a breakfast hamper, cosy electric blankets and best of all - a warm spa bubbling away on the balcony which we enjoyed under a most magnificent sky at night.

Rachael was an absolute pleasure to deal with when making our arrangements - very kind and accommodating. I can't recommend Driftwood Cottages highly enough. It's worth a visit to the beautiful South East coast of Tasmania just to stay there. We'll definitely be back.

Room Tip: We stayed in the Beach House which has the BEST views

Great location above the water/clifftop at Southport. Close to the furthest south point you can be. House felt like a shack due to location only. Great facilities, WARM fire and as long as you enjoy being self providing a value for money place.

We loved our stay at the Beach House! It was a pleasant surprise to walk into a warm house with the fire already stoked and the smell of warm, freshly baked bread. What a nice touch!

This was the perfect place to celebrate a romantic birthday getaway from town. Having a spa under the stars with a glass of red was amazing!

Will definitely look forward to visiting again!

Impressed by the cleanliness of the unit and friendly check in.
Great location and within walking distance of a restaurant and RSL club for meals.
Breakfast hamper was welcome and more than sufficient for 2 people.
Will certainly come back again.

Room Tip: Studio units at the water front are excellent

What an absolute gem of a place. So private, the perfect hideaway for a couple trying to get away from it all. Just idyllic. The little touches meant a lot. Cd's, movies, candles, cards, games. We had the most wonderful time away from it all and can't wait to return .Swans, dolphins, ducks, geese. too beautiful. A little bit of unexpected luxury. We stayed at Tides Reach which is separate from the cottages and it was worth the bit extra for the privacy and seclusion. Perfect!!!

Room Tip: Stay at Tides Reach. So beautiful.
