We stayed in an Oceanview cottage. These cottages are modern and very comfortable with a full kitchen. Since there are few eating out options in the area the kitchen equipment and modern appliances were well used and much appreciated. It is an easy stroll to the waterfront, beach and children's playground and an excellent base for all things to do with Tasmania's far south.

My parents stayed in a Waterfront studio which they also found extremely comfortable and particularly pleasant on waking to the great view.

On our recent trip to Dover we stayed in one of the waterfront studios overlooking the bay. It was very nicely furnished and made a great base for exploring the Southern tip of Tasmania. The studio was immaculate, and a few unexpected extras like free apples were a nice touch. There are a couple of nice places to eat out in Dover, but we also made use of the self-contained cooking facilities in the studio. It was especially nice to have a veranda with a fantastic view of the bay to relax on after a day of sight-seeing. We would definitely stay here again on our next trip to Southern Tasmania!

Hi HomewardBound, very pleased that you enjoyed your stay in our studio- and glad you liked the apples, we do try to add a "homely" touch of the Huon when we can! We hope to see you back in Southern Tassie again soon!

Spent 2 nights in The Beach House.
The view was spectacular - across the bay. The Hot Tub on the deck is very special, being able to sit in this and relax each morning, afternoon and evening.
The kitchen provided everything you could think of, with a great local supermarket within walking distance for provisions.
Crisp fresh linen, incredibly comfortable bed. Lots of space to unwind and relax.
Lovely local walks along the beach.
Food at the local hotel is excellent.
Highly recommed this to any couple wanting a quiet, peacful few days in the south of Tassie.

Stayed two nights in Dover in beautiful cottage 'Tides Reach' right on the water facing east towards Bruny Island. Very peaceful and scenic, views across bay superb especially the constantly changing weather. Loved our 'visitors' Mrs & Mrs Duck and their ducklings who waddled up to the verandah each day for a feed of bread. The cottage was beautifully presented with everything we needed. Only complaint was that there could have been a few more basic condiments in the pantry (salt shaker was empty). We ate at the RSL one night which was quite a nice meal, had lunch at the pub (superb seafood chowder) another day and purchased a fresh crayfish from there for our dinner that evening. If peace and tranquility is what you are looking for then this is the place for you.

We stayed 3 nights in the self-contained Ocean View Cottage with our family of three. The views from this cottage are stunning across the bay and beyond. From the cottage its a short walk to all shops in town, or to the beach, where there is a nice playground for young children. The cottage is well appointed with a great kitchen and everything is very clean and tidy. The cottage next to ours has no stairs for easier access, but this one had stairs. Dover is great base to explore the Huon Valley and far south of Tasmania, there are wineries nearby like St. Imre and the Old Post Office pizza restaurant is a great place to eat out when it's open. Dover has not been spoiled by excessive development like so many other coastal towns around Australia. We wouldn't hesitate to stay in the Ocean View Cottage again on our next trip to Tassie.

Hi Keith, thanks so much for the review, and glad you enjoyed your stay. Yes, when we built these we couldn't quite manage to have no stairs in your Ocean View Cottage- we thought the views were more important!
As you noticed the one next to it was specifically designed for full wheelchair access, inside and out, with the same decor and similar views over the bay. We hope to see you back in Tassie's Far South again soon!

A comfortable and welcoming self-contained apartment in Tassie's far South. Right on the water, a magnificent view of the bay, plenty of local attractions. Very comfortable cabin with everything you could possibly want at a very reasonable price. happy to recommend and re-visit.

We stayed in one of the Ocean View cottages for 3 nights over New Years. The accommodation was beautiful, clean and modern, and the view was spectacular. Dover is a lovely quiet town, which suited us perfectly. We used it as a base to visit Bruny Island and to also do the Tahune Airwalk (both activities we would highly recommend). The service at Driftwood was friendly and efficient - from the booking experience to checking in. The kitchen facilities were great - we cooked some wonderful meals using the local fresh produce. We will definitely visit it again and would recommend it to our family and friends.
