This was the beginning of a planned holiday in the island state. The trip surprised us as the last time we had been on this trip was 20 years ago. Big difference I can tell you, lots of good coffee on board, great sleeping quarters, great wine and a selection of food from gourmet to a pie!

The service was really great and I hope to travel on it again to move back to Tasmania. The shared cabins are a life saver as it gets to you rested to your destination

Recently I traveled to Melbourne on the Spirit of Tasmania. It was hard to believe the ship was actually at sea so very Smith was the sailing. The staff are courteous and helpful. On board lots to do tvs to watch. Live music up on top deck two bar areas. Food was at highest standard, all you can eat for $27. Casino if you want to try your luck or relax in cinema and watch a movie. Great all round transportation, price was a little high but were can you get that level of service traveling state to state.

I found the day crossing enjoyable. There was a hot water dispenser in the kiosk which made it convenient if you prefer to make your own teas. The lounges was quite crowded but there was plenty of space on the outside decks for views and peaceful moments. Staff were helpful and friendly. I will be doing a night crossing shortly; will write again soon!

We did a return night crossing in March. We took the car and treated ourselves to a deluxe cabin. We found the accommodation and service sensational, it was a memorable experience right from the loading of the car to the room and the buffet evening meal. The crew couldn’t have been more helpful, it was a great night in both legs - faultlessly in all respects. Make it part of your holiday and avoid the hassle of flying and hiring a car. We will definitely do it next time.
