Food was very good. Huge fire was great on the cold night we were there. Table side fan heaters were provided but didn't work well.

Very friendly, great service nothing to much trouble, great meal the Chef whipped up a Vegetarian Pasta to die for.
The only downside it was very cold outside and a bit chilly inside .
Must admit there was 2 roaring Fires but the Dining area is very large so it was a bit chilly.

A fantastic building of wood with a high ceiling. A cosy fireplace and dining separated from the bar area. We ate a dinner and a lunch there, food was very good and servings more than adequate.

The menu was limited, but it was well chosen and something for everyone.

If you are travelling between Hobart and Queenstown and it is cold and wet outside - this is the place to stop for a meal and to warm up by the massive log fire.

The staff are really friendly and happily offer travel advice and local knowledge. Really good atmosphere for travelling with kids too - lots of space for them to stretch out.

Came here for an evening meal in March. Despite the owner cautioning us that the "regular" chef was away ill and the service would be slow it wasn't and the meal was excellent. Highly recommended and better than the meals at Lake St Clair Lodge where we were staying.
