Popped into this hotel with four friends. The meal we had was great and though I just had a parsnip and stilton soup my neighbour had a chicken burger thing that looked very good. Great family service as our friends knew the staff. The bar was classic 1980s atmosphere..Spartan and panneled walls etc

A great experience.
Called in and Booked for One night.
Ended up staying for Two nights.

Old Cygnet Hotel with wonderful character.

Hostess Jennifer and ALL staff very pleasant and helpful.
This was quite outstanding for Jennifer and her hotel, where staff excel in their work.
Meals are 'spot on', clean and a large menu selection.

The Hotel rooms are old, yet very Clean and typical of the old hotels in Tassie where you do not have an ensuite.
( Very clean shared Male and Female Bathrooms ).
Maybe, the Lighting in the bedrooms could be made a brighter.

Definitely the best value Hotel down the Huon Area.
A 'must stay' if only, just for the experience.

From Cygnet you have plenty of Lower Southern area choices to visit and return well within a couple of hours drive.

Had a great stay.
Highly recommend.

Room Tip: Ideal Huon Location with a "inhouse" restaurant with great meals.

Typical pub atmosphere, fantastic menu, Jen was a great hostess. Had the chicken
parmigiana, totally superb, served with chips, that were OK, salad, which was great. An enormous meal, chose not to eat the chips, so I could eat the beautiful moist chicken. Hubby chose the seafood chowder, got full marks. There is a cafe area, and a dining room, miles away from each other. Happily recommend the restaurant.

The menu has changed under new management - our old favourite the Waikiki chicken was not there anymore, but there is a traditional parmigiana. I had the scallops with chips which were delicious. They have a good range of wines and ciders. The service was fast and friendly. Prices have increased somewhat. This is still a good eating option in Cygnet.

We had dinner at the hotel and when we finished we made the comment that it was the best meal we had in Tassie. What great food, service and affordable. Value for money and a great choice menu. Do yourself a favour.
