Had the most delicious lentil and chickpea soup. For the vegetarians out there this is definitely a place to explore! A hearty meal that I really enjoyed, keep up the good work.

The Red Velvet lounge has had heaps of publicity over the last few years, quirky place but i think there are other eateries in town which are as good or if not better than the Red Velvet Lounge.

If being shown to your seat then left waiting to eventually get your own menu to look through delights one then go for it.....I was not happy and this is not my first visit, but one of a number over the past few years and their has seemed not to have been an improvement in customer service.
Yes, a lovely, warm and relaxing setting, but, needs improving.

Warm and cosy atmosphere on a cold Huon Saturday. RVL was buzzing with excellent service, great food and a slightly funky vibe. Tables were busy ... From mums with kids having coffee and cake on the window front lounges ... A middle aged couple with their elderly parents having lunch ... To a large table of 30-somethings with plenty of bubbles celebrating a special occasion. We shared the yummy dips with sourdough... Then the grilled calamari, home made pork sausages and Clover Hill bubbles - all good! Other dishes we saw circulating also looked fab, including the whole char grilled flathead. RVL - a big reputation and it didn't disappoint.

A most curious experience, as I felt I was travelling back in time as soon as I sat at the table to absorbe the brilliant atmosphere of this place. We had a truly memorable lunch: the place was buzzing with people but the quality did not let us down and fully reflected all the praise we had read about this place. The gnocchi were excellent and the roasted meats to die for, never eaten anywhere else such a succulent chicken cooked to perfection. I really hope this place keeps thriving on this philosophy of slow cooking and locally sourcing top quality ingredients only, as it's a winning formula. Well done!
