My boyfriend and I stayed here on our too-brief trip to Tasmania in November and loved it. I booked here after reading reviews on TripAdvisor and was not disappointed. The cabins are actually in the best location for those exploring the park; they're the closest to the shuttle stop and just a quick couple minute drive to the dining options at the Chateau (more expensive) and the Lodge (less expensive). They have a great wine selection, too. My boyfriend and I purchased several bottles of Tasmanian wine from the front desk at fairly reasonable prices and enjoyed them very much.

We stayed in the Telopea cabin, which was cozy and romantic with a wood-burning fireplace/stove, jacuzzi, and four-poster bed. The kitchen was great - an oven, stove, fridge, sink, and all the needed dishes. It really is the perfect place to stay for those doing long hikes in the park: the kitchen has everything you need to make a quick breakfast in the morning before leaving, and the fire place and jacuzzi are welcome luxuries after a long day on your feet.

The staff was very friendly upon check-in and the outdoor critters were even better: we spotted a wombat sniffing around nearby and we fed wallabies by hand off our front porch. I highly recommend staying here and hope to make it back again someday.

For those traveling from Launceston or Hobart to Cradle Mtn, be sure to stop at the Trowunna Wildlife Park in Mole Creek on the way - an incredible experience where you can hold baby wombats and pat Tasmanian devils!

Great place to stay in a great part of the world. After walking through the National Park for a day, it was great to come back and sit by the fire. the cabins are fantastic, warm, cozy, clean, designed so you feel like your part of it all....need I say more?

We spent three beautiful nights in the Snowgum cottage complete with full kitchen, sumptuous spa and a unique view directly to Cradle Mountain. I organised our three day stay at Cradle Mountain based on the reviews on this page and we were certainly not disappointed!
The cabin was stunning; true romantic, rustic mountain style with beautiful wood work throughout. All the cabins were spaced well apart for privacy and the location was spot on, within walking distance of the shuttle which can take you directly to the Dove Lake carpark.
The kitchen was fully self contained and an absolute pleasure to prepare meals in. The bathroom was beautiful, with terracotta tiles and lovely timber and modern fittings. The huge bonus was the heated tiled floors in the bathroom......heaven! It had a great log fire, unfortunately we only got to use it one night as the weather warmed up for the rest of our stay.
The managers were fantastic and lovely hosts...we had a few great chats and they were only too happy to tell us about the area and Tasmania in general. The wine list they have is amazing and worth perusing. Prices are surprisingly competitive considering the isolation of the area. My only gripe was the laundry situation - only one washing machine and dryer and it cost $5 for a wash and $3 for a load in the dryer.
At $240 per night, we felt this was the quintessential mountain escape that did justice to the beautiful walks and scenery we experienced during our stay at Cradle Mountain. It was the little touches - quality sheets, heated floor, luxury spa, memorable view from the balcony - that heightened our experience and soothed our weary bodies after a big days' sightseeing and hiking. We will be back...can't wait to see Cradle Mountain and the Highlander's cottages in the winter time.

We stayed in the Tallow-Wood cottage - 2 person spa and wood heater. Perfect romantic getaway. Helpful, friendly staff. The cottage is private and had the most comfortable bed I have ever slept on apart from my own! We were greeted by a wombat and her baby when we arrived and also saw paddymellons outside our cottage. The continental breakfast basket is good value - eggs, bread, yoghurt, cereal, fruit and spreads. The Tasmanian Devil park down the road is worth seeing. Recommend the tavern at Cradle Mountain Lodge for dinner - just down the road and the cheapest dinner on the mountain (and nice too).

Booked snowgum spa for partner's bday and she's thrilled with the cottage. Saw padamelon and curawong just around the cottage as we walked in , loved the fire place, immaculate spa and bathing , rustic bed was great, leather seating and complete kitchen . Just 2-3 minutes drive from the lodge and national mountain park makes this a perfect place to visit , will definitely come back .
