“Relaxed stay in comfort despite very rainy”
Reviewed October 3, 2013

We stayed these last two nights and had a great time!! We were upgraded to a spa suite and were VERY comfy. Absolutely loved the wood fireplace. The first night we dined in the tavern and were disappointed with our fish and chips. They were horrid actually. The meals are really mass produced and were much less in quality than regular pub food. The second night we went to Highland Restaurant and loved it!! The morning breakfast buffet is very good but I think they struggle to keep up with both food and plates! It was raining quite heavy all day but somehow we managed two small walks around the lodge. We read the papers and played checkers in the lounge then rested in our beautiful cabin. We had taken our own wine and cheese but there were some snacks available in the shop next to the lodge. Overnight it snowed which was super special!!! Would definitely recommend to family and friends.

Very over priced. Staff are nice but continually forget to bring your food/drink orders. The spa suite way overall place needs to be repainted. Horrible bed and pillows. Food is average. We are really disappointed. Beautiful location but accommodation really poor.

All the Staff Seemed Friendly and polite,
Cabins are getting a bit old especially the Bathroom/Spa.
Rooms were not overly Clean.
Food in Restaurant was over Priced for what you get.
Tavern Meals bit like takeaway Food.
we did have a pleasant Trip.
Next Time we will be Taking our own Caravan & food.

We arrived late on a Sunday and the very nice receptionist named William kindly organised some late night snacks for us even though the kitchen was closed. This was our first time in cradle mountain and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The tavern is great to grab a feed and have a few drinks while hiding from the cold. There are also numerous walks around the property that are suited for all types. The buffet breakfast was a little average but all in all cradle mountain is not a foodies haven. The rooms were great and we loved the fire in our room.

I have stayed at this establishment a few times now, and will continue to go back. Location is prime, closest to Cradle Mountain. Lot's of lovely walks also located right on your doorstep with an abundance of wildlife. My only disappointment is with the meals served at the Tavern. For the price you pay, I would expect more care in the food preparation and presentation. Do your guests want fries or wedges on the side of their meal. Let's step it up a notch and promote what Tassie has to offer.

Lovely location, abundance of wild life roaming around the chalets and lodge. Family room was queen size bed and two singles all in one room so bit squashed but beds comfortable. Only criticism is no TV in rooms which is a bit hard when traveling with children. Meals in bar part of lodge decant, highland restaurant for a meal at night is a bit pricey for a family so we ate at bar side. Get breakfast included which is a buffet served in highland restaurant great value and lovely service to set you up for the day.

Beautiful surrounding but very pricey. It was snowing during our visit and it was beautiful. Wild life comes near the lodge and this includes paddy melon and wombat. Staff are friendly and helpful. Breakfast is good and fine dining in the restaurant is good, but food at the other outlet has nothing to shout about. Overall we enjoyed our 3 nights stay there.
