“Beautiful gardens...”
Reviewed April 5, 2014

... and I visited in March, when the rhododendrons are not in flower. The structure of the gardens has been well planned, and the volunteers involved with this Garden have made it an attraction to be visited, and revisited, in each season. It's a lovely haven from the rest of the world, and when the rhododendrons are in flower I could easily spend at least half a day there. I'm planning my next trip for spring.

“Rhododendron Display and Platypus”
Reviewed April 3, 2014

When we visited, the Rhododendrons were in full bloom. Very beautiful to take the various walking tracks to view them. A plus was seeing the platypus in the pond.

“Well worth the visit”
Reviewed March 31, 2014

A gorgeous place to wander through. Couldn't believe how many different species of Rhododendron there were. Was a perfect way to spend a cool overcast morning in Autumn. Would love to visit again over Spring Summer. Well worth the $8 entry fee!

“Surprising, with a secret”
Reviewed March 6, 2014

There were three of us - two flower fanatics and myself, so I knew they'd enjoy the gardens but I was just along for the ride. Well, I was converted in the first ten minutes, and it was on a September day that was overcast, wet and cool. The gardens are beautiful. Just to walk around is pleasant enough but it's possible to get really involved and talk with the volunteers there who are happy to answer any questions. The paths through the gardens are easy enough to follow and there's a fair variety in the different layouts and themes. The variety and colours, even on an unpromising day, make it a worthwhile place to visit - even for those who don't know much about rhododendrons. AND, in the lake that's central to the gardens there's a little surprise that nobody told us about. What should we discover but a very happy platypus going about his or her business while we strolled past. The coffee shop is there for a cuppa and there are some snacks on offer to stave off hunger pangs. But the flowers are food for the spirit, so add this to the list of places to visit and you'll be pleasantly rewarded. (My rating, by the way, is only because it was winter and I'm sure that it would be even better in spring.)

A delightful extensive garden created by volunteers.
Some access is a bit challenging if you are not very mobile.
