“Consistent food and quick service.”

You can always be guaranteed of consistent food and good service at this place. I have only had one bad meal here and I told them, we eat here often and invite our mainland visitors to this eatery.

“Are these the worst chips in Australia?”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 28, 2012

What a rip-off! There is NOTHING good about this joint.
No wonder Tassie has such a bad reputation.
Is this your idea of "clean, and green"?
If you like soggy droopy ex frozen cold chips, 3rd world country style tasteless over deep fried "fish??????" dripping in grease which has been used for decades and gives you an unbelievable gut ache.....(one even worse than when got the bill), then this filthy, bordering on illegal, pathetic excuse for a restaurant is right up your alley!
Shame on you Tasmania. An embarrassment to us all.
Mainlanders beware.

3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 6, 2012

great location, pleasant enough little cafe on beach in main part of town
staff ok, dress sense left a bit to be desired (open shoes/sandals is a no-no!)
servings very small and ours was a bit overcooked
other diners meals looked better

“Terrible customer service / charges for dine-in condiments”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 21, 2012

My fourth visit here and last. All of the staff treat you as if you have inconvenienced them. No smiles or offers a warm welcome.

Dine-in customers must pay 50 cents for a small packet of tomato sauce or other condiments, in addition already high prices on the menu. Amazed that a business like this can survive in Burnie given the tough employment climate!

Time to hire some new staff and make this place a pleasant dining experience.

“Fawlty Towers!”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 19, 2012

Recently my husband and I met some friends for breakfast. There were 11 of us at the table and since things in Tasmania are a little on the slow side lately, one would expect to be treated as a valuable customer. Sadly this was not to be. We arrived at 10.35 and were told that breakfast had finished and there was no food available until lunch! This was despite the fact that the other 6 at our table had just put their orders in. Another 3 people who came about the same time as us were also told this was the case. We couldn't believe that in tough times you would knock back 5 customers who would have been happy with a basic egg on toast and were prepared to pay! It made the others at our table feel very uncomfortable as we watched them eat their food. I understand that in a small place it is difficult when lunch and breakfast overlap but realistically we were only 5 minutes after the cut off! We felt sorry for the waitress who was so apologetic. We had a coffee and went elsewhere for our food. The cafe missed out on 5 customers cash that morning and by the look on the waitress' face it was not the first time this has been a problem. In today's economic climate, eating places must be more flexible.
Lovely location but service needs to improve!
