“Economical Accommodation”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 7, 2014

We stayed for 2 nights in this well run park. We chose a cheaper cabin, only $90 per night as this suited our budget. We found it to be clean but dated and worn, but that's not a complaint it's a reflection of the rate - you pay for for what you get.
All in all it was clean, comfortable and affordable and we'll stay there again.

Thank you for your comments. Over the winter we have up-graded 5 of the cabins and I think that you will find a great difference when you stay again.

This was a great cabin for an overnight stay for two people. There was a small kitchen/ sitting area, a passageway that had triple bunks and bathroom off it and a bedroom with a double bed. You walk pst the bunks to get to the bedroom. It was exactly what we were looking for as we arrived late afternoon, went out to a dinner and left early in the morning. Everything was clean, with the bathroom being spotless, although the floor was showing a bit of wear and tear. The cabins are quite close to their neighbours, but there wasn't any undue noise. The location over the road from the beach is very pleasant, although from the caching you wouldn't know there is a beach nearby. We would happily stay here again.

Thnk you for your comments. We are pleased that you enjoyed your stay and found the cabins to be clean and comfortable. In general most guest tell us that the standard of cleanliness is very high, although sometimes guests confuse "old" with "dirty" We look forward to accommodating you again in the future.

Booked a 2 bedroom motel unit and was pleasantly surprised at how much space there was. It was clean and the beds very comfortable. We had everyrhing we needed for a 3 night stay. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Had the beach just arcoss the road which was a bonus. Overall very happy with the level of holiday accommodation.

Friendly host, very helpful. We booked last minute, so only more expensive ($169 per night) unit available, but spacious, clean and overlooking the ocean. Decent facilities including heated indoor pool. Only complaint is pool was very highly chlorinated. Laundry facilities $4 a load. There are cheaper options available for accommodation from about $108 a night, which are smaller, but were not available the night we arrived. Good location on main road, although traffic noise at front, but not really an issue as doors blocked out most of noise. Overall would recommend this as good value for money.

Room Tip: Quieter rooms at back, but larger rooms at front overlooking water.

It has been there a long time...........on the esplanade in Burnie, looking due north to Victoria. And when you have driven straight thru from the far west coast at Strahan after disembarking on a glorious world heritage day trip up the Franklin River at 3pm...........this old van park on the far north coast is a welcome sight on dusk!!
On driving in, which is not the easiest I have dealt with.............you are directed right down the back to an open van park/camping area which is...............unexpected. Out the front are the motel units, cabins and an assortment of ALL style of older accommodation PLUS an indoor pool area. But our amenities were HANDY and CLEAN and the management was WELCOMING and ACCOMODATING and that is all you really need after a long day of sightseeing and travelling across Tasmania!! Don't forget the HomeMakers Centre up the road too.............it is THE attraction in Burnie!!

Booked at short notice so were happy to get a cabin at a good rate. Much more spacious that we thought and spotless, however, there was an unpleasant smell coming mainly from the kitchen area but was evident right throughout. Don't know if it is an air freshener they use or something else. Staff very pleasant. The other positive was that it was quiet and not on the railway line like many of the other accommodation houses.Overall, excellent value for money

Thank you for your kind review of the accommodation. Our cleaners, 2 of whom have been with the business for over 16 years each, take great pride in their work and I will pass your comments on. Let me set your mind to rest regarding the smell when you were in the motel. Unfortunately the smell was not from the cabin. The whole of the suburb was affected with a sewerage blockage in an outlet on the foreshore. On Sunday the water corporation guys spent hours in the suburb repairing pipes and now, to everyones relief, the air has cleared!! Hope to see you again.

Stayed for three nights in an upstairs Motel room.
The outside is very drab and needs some work. Inside is better, but still quite dated. Bit cramped with the queen bed, single bed and roll away. This was the cheapest accommodation we stayed in and it felt like it.
Shower was excellent however with plenty of hot water. Good location with quick drives to Burnie, Wynyard and further along the Coast.
Given the cost, would probably stay again.

Thank you for your comments. We have recently re-designed one of the rooms similar to the one you stayed in and it is open plan and very modern looking. The response had been very positive, so, next winter we will complete all rooms to the new design. All bathrooms are now new in the block you stayed in. Real value for money.
