Both Helen and Jonathan provide a warm and welcoming home experience. Small extras like larger bath towels, shampoos and conditioner - not simply soap tablets let you know that you are not paying simply for a hotel room. The location allows for pleasant walks and good access to Burnie itself as well as other sightseeing destinations in north-western Tasmania. Helen and Jonathan were always warm, friendly and helpful. I look forward to staying with them again.
As above, the property is ideally located, close to shops, beach, parks etc.
The proprietors are friendly and helpful, and try to make your stay as comfortable as possible.the upstairs is well laid out with comfortable furniture.
Come see for yourself.
The home was spotlessly clean and very well-appointed, and thought had been given to lovely little touches like fresh flowers in the living area, huge fluffy bath-sheet sized towels, and thoughtful tea/coffee supplies including hot chocolate and Robert Timms coffee bags, as well as 3 kinds of tea.
Breakfast provisions were generous, with a range of cereals provided as well as bread for the toaster and a selection of jam, honey and marmalade. There was also plenty of hot water for the shower and great water pressure. The kind of things that take a trip away from 'just a place to sleep' to 'a place I'd like to come back to'.
Our hosts were lovely and very helpful, including directing us to an excellent Indian restaurant (Indian Corner) in town.
There's a couple of things that would make this lovely home unsuited for some visitors: the self-contained suite is up a flight of stairs, making it difficult for anyone mobility-impaired, and it's not really a 2br as such - it's got one large bedroom with a queen bed and a single, which might make it inappropriate for business travellers.
Neither of these were a problem for us, and we'd be delighted to stay again next time we're in Burnie. We will also be recommending this location to our friends.
The location was very handy to Burnie city centre, local attractions and anything we needed was within 10 - 15 minutes from Parklands.
The proximity to the water and port offered many opportunities for pleasant walks - in particular we enjoyed the beautiful walk from the park at the top of the road in which our accomodation was located down to Burnie Central.
This little "home away from home" was also handy for many lovely drives, & easy access to Wynyard for family business.
