Owner description: Inala Nature Tours has over 20 years experience in organising specialised birdwatching, wildlife viewing and natural history tours throughout Australia. Tour length and itineraries are personalised according to the clients' requirements and can be guided or self-guided. We have we work with a network of expert local guides. Inala Nature Tours also offers tours and accommodation on our 600 hectare private nature reserve on Bruny Island in Tasmania. Birds and wildlife abound on the property, which is world-renowned as a birdwatching destination and the location. It offers habitat for all of Tasmania's endemic birds, as well as several other rare and endangered bird and mammal species, including one of the largest remaining colonies of endangered Forty-spotted Pardalotes. All guided tours must be pre-booked and we advise booking well in advance, particularly during spring and summer. A Nature Museum and Jurassic Garden are open to Inala visitors and generally do not require booking but opening hours may vary. The Museum showcases minerals, fossils and shells from around the world, whilst the garden, established in 2013, demonstrates the floristic links that existed between the southern continents, that were united in the Gondwana supercontinent, during the Jurassic period, many millions of years ago. Described as 'living fossils' these incredible plants, having changed little in millions of years, are a window on our distant past.

We stayed with Inala Tours for 2 nights in July where we also did some birding and a tour around the islands sites. It was great. Ruth was our tour leader and was highly informative, and easy going. Tonia was great with answering emails prior to our arrival and we felt we knew what to expect before we even got there.
The cottage we stayed in was clean and comfortable, it was cold outside but the house was well heated the only downside was there was no internet connection..it wasnt working, but they did their best to try and fix it, and anyway...who needs internet in paradise?
We saw an Echidna which was a big thing for us & almost all of the indigenous birds on Bruny.
One night we found a dead female wallaby on the road and Ruth pulled her off the road and noticed her pouch was moving so we removed the little joey (only a few weeks old) and took him back to Tonia who is currently looking after him. He turned out to be an albino wallaby, a lucky find! So happy he made it and is doing well :)
Anyway, thanks so much to you both for your great hospitality. I will recommend you to any friends and family heading that way!

We took an Inala Nature Tour during a month-long trip to Australia and we can unreservedly say that this was one of the most memorable events of our stay Down Under.  From our very first enquiry, Tonia could not have been more helpful in providing advice on every aspect of our visit, including our specific interests so that our tour could be suitably tailored and travel arrangements to/from Bruny - she even found alternative accommmodation on the island because all that at Inala was fully booked.
In the end, we did a day tour and it was faultless.  Our guide, Bob Graham, is a mine of information as well as being excellent company and a true nature enthusiast. Whilst birdwatching is a "specialist subject" at Inala, our tour covered many aspects of the flora, fauna, geography and geology of the wonderfully unspoilt Bruny Island.  The lunch provided was delicious as well.
This is a specialist and bespoke tour that completely lives up to its billing and should not be missed if you're interested in Nature at its best.
Well done and thank you to all at Inala.

Thank Chris R
