They need a dose of some good marketing management to improve their menu, and promote their "gourmet" Tassie food, and "Boutique" Tassie beers and wines.

Open up the side wall with windows. They are a good location, but the internal and external layout could be improved greatly.

Put a bit of meat on the menu. The meal izes were a bit small, and a little over priced for what they were. Quality could have been a lot better too,

Have just read the reviews of this cafe and on our brief experience think the criticisms are very unfair. We were on a two day stay at Barnbougle and were looking to spend some time with an afternoon drive and coffee. We had seen the cafe the previous day and had decided to try it. We were served by a very pleasant lady and another younger lady who I now assume is Kate the owner. She is delightful. A young woman with the courage to start a business, working hard, and we thought doing pretty well.
The coffee is very good. A surprise in a small town like Bridport. Kate uses Villino beans which we had come across in Tombolo cafe in Coles Bay. We liked the coffee there and we liked it here. Villino actually has a cafe in Criterion St Hobart. We haven't seen Villino beans in Sydney but hopefully they are coming !
Kate also does all the cooking and we had some lemon slice, and melting moments freshly made that were wonderful. Kate advised that all cakes and pastries were made on site. And her apron proved it. The hot food had finished for the day but nothing we saw would suggest that the food would be anything else but good. And remember it's a cafe not a restaurant.
If you are playing golf at Barnbougle you do need in your down time to get out and about. There is not much by way of other activities at Barnbougle Dunes and at Lost Farm there is a spa but that's it. So a good coffee and supporting a small business owner is the way to go. Kate is apparently moving the cafe about 2 blocks up the road to a small house in the next month or so. Go and visit. Other reviewers might feel differently but I think their judgement is a little harsh to say the least.

After a tough round of golf at Barnbougle, my husband and I were quite hungry and thirsty. So we stopped at this little cafe. We loved the food and the coffee was just perfect. It's just a small place but very comfortable. I also liked the saying they had on the wall: "Life is not about waiting for the storm to pass. It is about learning to dance in the rain".

Oveercooked poached eggs, cold hollandaise, coffee ok. Service was fine, but would hate to see the place function on a busy day. There was just one other table in the cafe.

Visited on Monday long weekend. Arrived at 12.30 went to order food they had none as they had a busy weekend. Iga five doors down could have got supplies and made something even a salad or toasted sandwich. We did have a drink. Coffee brought out to dirty table which wasn't cleaned down which we went in and got a napkin to do it. We had to go and get spoons so we could stir drink after putting sugar in. It was like we were going to steal the spoon. Other table of four and two observed our lack of service and commented they had the same crap service. After we left other people went in and left without having anything. Big mistake it's tough times wake up to yourself. The young blond girl had no personality and was only interested in her iced chocolate and scooping the cream out in front of customers and eating as well. We could handle not having food but to have such poor service on dirty tables was a disgrace and this happened to eight people that we saw in 30 minutes. Not good advertising.
