Owner description: Welcome to Platypus House. The only place in the world you can experience this amazing animal up close and personal. A Tasmanian natural living world experience not to be missed. Watch both live platypuses and echidnas in daylight and undercover!

The staff were so knowledgable and obviously loved their jobs and the animals. Was great to see the platypus up close and got some great photos, not something I could have got in the wild. Great food too, no a huge selection but tasty choices.

Enjoyed the guide's commentary & seeing these awesome little guys close up. Amazing to be so close to the echidnas, very special.

We visited here and Seahorse World. All up tour is about 30 minutes and includes visiting the echidnas. Sharon our guide was really informative. It was great to see the echidnas and have them walking around your feet.
This attraction is on a double pass with the seahorse world or a triple pass with the mine. Concession holders usually work out cheaper buying the attractions separately.

Travel agents, ask for a discount and show your IATA card.

The guide was very knowledgeable and informative about the platypuses and echindnas. The tour went for 20 mins to half an hour. It was great to see the echindnas up close as they are fed right up close to you.

However, you'll see the platypus for 15 mins, then the echindnas for 15 mins, then there is nothing left to do. You can't stay and view these animals at your leisure. For $23 per adult I think this is very poor value for money given other attractions in the area like the Low Head Penguin Tour which costs $17.50 and you spend an hour looking at Penguins and wild penguins at that.

If you allowed to stay in with the platypus tanks or with the echindnas then maybe it would be worth it.

Great exhibit, very educational and a visual feast. Both the Sea Horse and Platypus house are together so its worth doing them both as they are quite unique. Very enjoyable, we learned heaps
