Owner description: Welcome to Platypus House. The only place in the world you can experience this amazing animal up close and personal. A Tasmanian natural living world experience not to be missed. Watch both live platypuses and echidnas in daylight and undercover!

stopping here was recovery from our experience at Tasmania Zoo. It restored our spirits, a lovely encounter with echindnas and close ups of delightful platypus. Informative tour but I could have spent hours watching Edwina and co!

We arrived just before the last tour at seahorse attraction . Craig worked with Lindley at platypus house so we could see both attractions with no fuss.
Lindley was well researched in her ability to share information, exhibit the animals in her care with enthusiasm, understanding what makes a positive experience for the viewer too.
I shall remember the furry echidnas for many years I have never seen those animals exhibited quite so well

The tour guide was able to describe many interesting aspects of the animals. The facility itself leaves a lot to be desired, but, the important thing is the platypus and echidna exhibits I learned more in that 45 minute tour than I ever have before.

Not only do you get to see and learn about the platypus but also the spiny Echidna.

A great introduction film followed by a tour and narration provided by our two tour guides we got to see how both lived in their natural habitat.

This display of native Australian animals almost adjoins Seahorse World at Beauty Point. We were fortunate in actually seeing a platypus in the wild at Geevston south of Hobart.
