“My stay”
Reviewed March 19, 2014

Hotel was nice, a little old but nice enough to stay at for a weekend. Service was good, breakfast buffett was nice however it did take a while for you to replenish the food when it was running out - this isn't good considering it was a peak time at breakfast. Highlight of this hotel was the day spa. Service was amazing and massage was brilliant - 5 stars from me for the day spa!

The room had no mobile coverage (Optus), the wifi dropped in and out and restricted facebook (app, web worked) access. The toilet leaked and the shower dripped all night. There was rust in the toilet.

There were so many things wrong with this place - where do I start. Girls weekend away - we were all very excited BUT - Afternnon reception staff had no idea about the seafood dinner offer and sent us to "The Kitchen" to find out for ourselves, there was No cocktail menu in bar (do there make up the prices as they go?) so we had to google what drinks we felt like in the bar lounge. we made a booking for dinner on the drive there, only for it to be not written in the book when we arrived at dinner - sent to the bar to wait for them to make up a table (mind you they were very grumpy and seemed put out to have to do this). 20min later they had a table for us (only 5 of us in the group) & the restaurant was not even half full. All of this is not a major deal breaker but very unprofessional. Waitress didn't think they had any seafood (on Seafood Night), meals were pretty bleh we weren't that happy. The major issue came when my friend who is coeliac ordered her meal which on the menu states "GLUTEN FREE" only for it to come out with a biscuit sitting within it. when we inquired with the waitress she said it was gluten free - we said well is the biscuit gluten free? she said NO. So its not gluten free? she once again said it was if you remove the biscuit!! WHAT? Manger was called "Jack" who was extremely unprofessional and unhelpful. Told us the menu was meant to read "gluten free option available" but they hadn't changed it yet. He managed to make us all fee like a burden and even told me off for speaking. we were very disappointed with this whole dining experience and will never go back.
7am the next morning we were woken by music blaring from the gym. When my friend went out to see what was happening she found a personal trainer holding a private gym session, they were not part of the establishment, just making use of the facilities. She turned the music down slightly when requested.
The Thalgo Day Spa was great. we will not return though.

Room Tip: Do not eat at the restaurant especially if you are Gluten Free

Stayed for New Year's Eve, they provided a well-entertained night. The room was nice, but the bathroom needs renovating. It was clean however the teaspoon that I put into my tea was dirty, wasn't happy about that.
The breakfast buffet is good value.
Overall happy.

I had such a wonderful time at the Sebel Resort and Spa. Staff were friendly, restaurant and bar were great, room was clean and quiet, grounds were lovely and well kept. I loved the indoor pool and spa. Close to the Blue Mountains which allows for great day trips. I also used the onsite day spa which was fantastic and i loved my massage. Overall i enjoyed my time and can't wait to go back.

My partner and I stayed on friday just for a night away. We got a complemetary upgrade to a spa suit which was much appreciated as it was a long drive. There was a function on but we were placed out of the way so we wernt disturbed. The staff at breakfast were very friendly and the buffet looked amazing. As we dont get to relax much this was the perfect night. Before we left we walked around the grounds for some photos which turned out lovely. We will return.

I booked a Friday night (Valentines Day) using a Scoopon offer for $159. The offer included a buffet breakfast for 2, late check-out and free Wi-Fi. Because it was a Friday night, we ended up having to pay an additional $50 on top of the voucher, costing us $209, which in my opinion, wasn't good value.

> The wi-fi didn't even work, so I wasn't able to take advantage of that part of the offer
> The room was old and worn and is in need of some serious updating and had one of those old fashioned connecting doors
> There was no dining table, not even for 2 people (luckily we ate at a restaurant that night)
> Linen supplied was minimal, only 2 x bath towels, 1 hand towel (usually it's good to have at least 2) and 1 bathmat that wasn't sufficient as the shower leaked
> The breakfast was OK, except they looked understaffed and they seemed to lack motivation - possibly overstressed as there weren't enough people managing the breakfast

My overall opinion was that I wasn't happy spending the extra $50 because it was a Friday night. What couple wants to stay midweek? Most people are working.

Also they were capitalising on V-day and only offered super-expensive exclusive menus for the night. One was about $130pp!! Ridiculous! We ended up eating in Bella Vista for more than half of that. They should've just had the normal menu, just because it's V-day doesn't mean people want to spend excessive amounts of money.
