We were lucky to find the Walcha Road Hotel on Trip Advisor before we set off on our travels - the Information Centre in Walcha itself didn't know about it! It is well worth the detour and the sort of place that stays in your memory. The self-contained rooms were immaculate/comfy (no tv but who wants one in such surroundings). Food as promised in earlier review and a lot of thought taken - eg tomatoes for breakfast had been cooked with herbs rather than the usual rock hard semi-grilled variety you normally get. The whole place had a wonderful feeling of out of the way rural Australia (with a touch of an English pub about it) and we appreciated the opportunity of sitting on the verandah and in the dining room, chatting with the locals. Well done Suesann and your partner (Chef in charge) and your lovely lady helper who made us feel so welcome.
